Re: outfit, depends kung saan ka comfortable. Pwede jogging pants, gym shorts knee length, short gym shorts, tshirt, gym top na spag strap. Basta make sure it's not loose. Ako I invested sa dry-fit na nike gym top and shorts. At least if pawis, hindi masyado halata. And gym shorts (above knee length) para I can always check if my knee is pointing straight to avoid injury

It is so sad that yoga has been rendered into another "fitness" and "conditioning" exercise and is not practiced for what it truly is. No thanks to a lot of the trainors and commercialized establishments.

Well, I am convinced that Yoga would primarily cater to rich people. All three Yoga gyms I have asked ranges from 450-1000 pesos per session!

Sayang, baka makatulong to to make me leaner...

There are many ways to enjoy yoga even while on a budget.

I started learning yoga through VCDs and YouTube.

    i dont agree,
there's no such thing as "rich people" when it comes to fitness....
kung feeling mo hindi ka "Rich person" it should motivate you more dahil mas kaunti resources mo, remember:

    health is wealth

^True. Kung hindi mo afford mag-yoga, choose another exercise regimen na mas swak sa bulsa mo like running or walking. Para sa interesado.

not true. Meron mga yoga na masmura, I attended one in Magallanes, P50 per session lang. However, you don't know if you're doing the right thing or not kasi the instructor doesn't approach you to check your pose. Iyengar Yoga is cheaper, mga P2500 per month, you can attend as many as you want. Pero it only focuses only on Iyengar Yoga. yun mga mahal (500 per session, arund 4500-5000 pesos per month, pero unlimited), mahal kasi they offer different kinds of yoga (ashtanga, gentle flow, hot yoga, etc) I think masmahal yun yoga compare to other forms of exercise (although yoga isn't considered as a kind of exercise) kasi hindi pa siya ganun ka-sikat. maybe lang...

yoga is a wonderful way to be in touch with mind and body. i had a really bad lifestyle before. like no exercise, bad eating habits. ngayon, hinahanap hanap ko ang yoga. it makes me happy when i am able to share the joys of yoga to others i have been doing it for 2 years now, mostly power yoga.

    1. insights - to quote good yoga instructors

yoga is a practice. it is not a competition, it is not a sport. its ok kung d mo pa kaya ang pose. as long as tama yung form mo. you dont have to go deep. and always breathe. yun ang pinaka-importante sa yoga. yung paghinga thru the nose, out the nose.

    2. gym vs. yoga

imo, do both. gym for cardio and weights. yoga for strength and toning.

    3. places in manila

the places in the links above look good. the thing is to look for the class and the teacher you feel most comfortable and productive with. trial and error din.

the benefits are awesome. mas nalalaman mo yung strengths and weaknesses ng katawan mo. ako i still have to work on my upper body but i am stronger and there are some poses that i am still working on. pero sabi nga nila yoga is a practice.

    namaste!

i think so, kasi yung ka office mate ko na super payat, nag gain ng weight. Kahit siya nagulat non. Mas maganda siyang tingnan ng magyoga siya.
