If you are using GI pipe para linya ng tubig ay no need for ground cable kasi yung pipe mismo ay grounded na, pero pag PVC then you need to put grounding.

However, kung may ELCB (earth leakage circuit breaker) na yung water heater nyo ay safe na kayo. Normally you will see this ELCB sa mga new design na water heater (dial type selector with electronic board). But for the 3 position selector (lo/med/hi) ay mga old design yun and usually wala silang ELCB. Dagdagan nyo na lang ang budget nyo ng kaunti and purchase dial type. mas maganda kung may pressure switch or flow switch yung unit.

sa installation, advisable na mas mataas yung shower head sa heater unit para palaging may tubig yung heater module to prolong heater life....

Thank you so much welscua for the detailed explanation, yes i got a panasonic with breaker type elcb and i think its already safe without grounding it, thought the manual says it must be earthed. If i have time i will be earthing it soon.

    Shower Heater

read this thread >>> water heater brands

also take in to consideration service centers... it may have a long warranty period but after that where will you have it serviced if something breaks... madalas mga importers don't even know how to repair what they import.

is there a brand that's lower than 3.5 kw for the power rating of shower heaters?

Lumaki ako sa brand na Bhagwan. Surprisingly parang may nakita pa ako recently nang ganitong brand. Pero when I started buying my own, I opted for Jett water heaters (2 single point showers, 1 multipoint). Ok naman.

I'm sure the branded ones like Panasonic and Champs are very good.

I bouht AEG and nagtagal naman for few years until now, then I bought second water heater para sa CR sa baba, AEG din, after 1 week, ayaw na gumana. I called the after-sales service, ni-repair nila free of charge, sira daw yung heater.
Buti na lang maayos yung service nila but I won't buy AEG anymore para sa isa pa naming CR, I will buy other brand...

    Champs Water Heater

Sabi po sa ACE hardware is 5 years ang waranty nila sa heating element may nagsabi po kasi ng 2 to 3 times na ito nasira kung wala pang 5 years e pwede pa ba ito papalitan ng free?

Saka po isa ring mahalaga is yung support nila sabi kasi nila madami raw support at technician and champs compare sa panasonic na sa check up palang pag-wala na sa warranty is may bayad agad tama po ba?

Comment naman sa support ng mga other products pag-nasira specially pagbagong bili palang almost 1 or 2 months sino ang ok?

    Champs HotSpa Water Heater

I bought a Champs Water Heater Model HotSpa for php9000 in April 2010 at Wilcon Builder’s Supply in Quezon Avenue, and after 7 months it broke down. Since it is under warranty, they replaced the heating element.

But after a few more months, it broke down again. So for the second time, I contacted Champs service center. Apparently, it is the heating element that broke down again. But this time they said that they cannot help me anymore because they have phased out this model from the market, hence, there are no more heating element available whatsoever for this model! And no amount of contacts or requests could help me anymore.

Champs are selling products with a hefty price tag but have very short shelf life. I only used this HotSpa for a total of 17 months and now I cannot even have this water heater repaired by anyone anymore because they have decided to pull this model out from the market. Along with the spare parts!

They advised me to buy another Champs Water Heater and they will give a 20 percent discount on the only two models available! Not Happy!!!

I'm not buying any Champs products anymore and I will take every opportunity to tell people about my experience so at least they will become more aware when they make a decision before buying Champs Water Heaters.
