    i had dengue too last january. I had fever for three days then gumaling ako. after that i felt my mouth was really dry and had headaches too. When i was checked in the hospital, they told me that most probably i have dengue cuz my blood test resulted on low platelet count=45000. they also told me i was dehydrated that's why my mouth felt dry. dunno if it's because of the dengue. I had another test then confirmed na dengue. i was confined na in the hospital and the next morning i've noticed red dots sa legs and back ko. i was confined for like, 4 days and good thing gumaling ako and didnt need a blood transfusion. My doc told me i had dengue fever lang or stage 1.

    Red face Need Help>>i Think I Have Dengue..

    i was in hospital for 2 days because of fever and constipation,i was released because of lack of money and the doctor told me that it's only a virus infection, i just need to eat many apples so my parents decided to take me home. After 1 day at home, I was better and from 38 deg I was now 36 deg only but there are side effects, i had blood in my colds and i had red itchy rashes all over my body..I don't know if that's dengue fever because i don't have fever at all,, but i don't know why i had these symptoms. PLEASE HELP GUYS, I REALLY NEED YOUR REPLY ASAP!!!!

    i have a brother who has this virus now. he got confined and up to now his platelets are not that normal, his lowest is 17 platelet count. so blood transfusion talaga, but we prefer people that my parents know. the blood bank na galing sa redcross is okay may 4 bags na naka reserve pero its better nga getting blood donations... from people you know coz its tested kaagad, and yun nga lang not every one you know can donate. and not all are qualified talaga.

    a family member can't donate and its best to get it from outside the family circle.

    and thats it his fever never got down from 39 degrees. its either 40 or 39. and the nurse suggested that when fever lowers down... the platelets goes down too. it cures talaga in its own natural way. the fever last 7days and yup, we still yet have to see the rashes to appear or that fever decreasing.

    so the major concern is to increase the platelets, and relatives/family friends(who undergone same fever before) suggested that (kamote tops juice) helps increase platelets & online naman (papaya leaves juice) helps in the same way.

    for awhile i think the kamote tops juice works, it kind of revitalized the energy of my brother, but the next day it reached
    to the point that his platelet count lowered to 17 and his first blood transfusion was admnistered.

    dengue or not

    good morning!

    my bro in law was brought to the hospital. after initial check up, the doctor couldnt pinpoint whether its dengue or typhoid. most symptoms excluding the rashes leads to dengue. on the first blood lab test, his platelet read 35. after drinking a probiotic capsule, it read 40 and he was given 5 bags of blood / blood transfusion last night. 6 hours after the blood transfusion, another blood test was made and it now read 38. the doctor said that the body didnt react to the platelet given and now they are asking the family to find a hematologist. we are worried.
    his symptoms: 1st day, High fever with chills and joint pain esp upper limb. 2nd day, high fever with chills and severe lower back pain. 3rd day, high fever with chills and body pain plus vomiting due to cough. After taking antibiotic fever was gone super lamig naman sya then headache and vomiting due to cough pa din.
    is it possible that the platelet would not increase after the transfusion? is this normal in dengue patients? i hope someone could explain what possible disease he has, based on the symptoms. we are waiting for the hematologist now.

    Question Dengue Fever

    Hi po..

    I'm worried I might have dengue fever, but I really don't know. Should I just go to the doctor and say "I think I have dengue fever"? How will they know if I really do? Do they do some tests or something?

    Sorry, I've never had dengue before, but what I've experienced lately:

    -- Mainly headaches and weakness

    * Thursday (Sep 2) - Headaches
    * Friday (Sep 3) - Headaches
    * Saturday (Sep 4) - Was lying in bed after feeling tired @ 12 am, Fell asleep and woke up @ 1:40 am feeling nauseous, light headed, and really weak. I can't really explain how weak I felt.. my muscles just felt really heavy. At the time, I kind of felt "paralyzed".
    * Sunday - Diaorrhea
    * Monday - Woke up with headache and pain in right eye (when pressing right eye and when moving right eye). Felt really hot and weak at night even with air con on. Also felt nauseous.
    * Tuesday - Stomach ache
    * Wednesday - Headache

    I didn't take down when exactly I've been bitten, but I have been bitten in the past 2 weeks. Just not sure how often lol.

    Based on the above, do you think it's dengue? Should I go to the doctor?

    sept 2 pa? go to the doctor na!

    @ Dangerousss

    even if its not dengue, you should still see a doctor.

    Blood tests, history and physical examination will determine if it is dengue.

    Councilor Vincent Paul Elago, proponent of the resolution, disclosed the DOH has already issued a warning for people to stop using the tawa-tawa as a cure for dengue
    “As you are probably aware of, there is no specific drug to kill the dengue virus."
    I'd agree with the DOH. I've had Dengue fever myself several years ago. I would have died if I wasn't managed properly, by a real doctor and not someone pretending to be a doctor. You cannot practice medicine if you don't have a medical license, that is the law. That specific law is meant to protect the public.

    I had it a few weeks ago, probably catched in Laguna area, few kids in vicinity died that time from Dengue !

    Doc told me that it will breed around 10 days after the mosquito bite and then only the fever start.
    You will feel very weak and suffer muscle pain, you just want to stay in bed !
    Eating was near impossible in the first days, tasted disgusting and just not feel like eating ! This does not help to get back on good health...
    Best is to go in hospital and have Dextrose injected, stay monitored until platelet count is growing back well.

    If you wait to long with platelet to low, you will just start bleeding internal and external, just any part of body, Death often follows, treating is simple and easy in HOSPITAL !

    Mega spray galore ng insecticide after a neighbor contracted dengue. I don't know if he contracted it here in the neighborhood or in the province.

    Off-topic:
    Just saw this on facebook. Susubukan ko kung gagana then magfeedback ako dito.

    Text reads:
    Mosquito Trap - A Cheap Way
    This information may cause massive loss of jobs in insecticides companies,
    but it could save thousands of innocent lives from the cruel fate of
    dengue.

    Our apologies to all branded insecticides in the marketplace.

    DIY is so easy and its costs are unbelievably negligible. Eradicate Aedes and dengue.

    FIGHTING DENGUE MUST START AT EVERY HOME.
    Mosquito trap (Prevention of Dengue & other mosquito borne diseases)

    It’s just a mix of water, brown sugar and yeast.

    1. Cut a plastic bottle in half, keep both parts. Can be soft drink
    bottle.
    2.Take the lower portion of the bottle. Dissolve the brown sugar in hot
    water. Let it cool down to ~70 deg F (room temperature).
    3.Add the yeast. Carbon dioxide will be formed and will attract the
    mosquitoes.
    4.Cover the bottle with a dark wrap and insert in the top portion upside
    down like a funnel. Place it in a corner in your house.
    5. In 2 weeks you will be surprised by the number of mosquitoes killed.

    Hi.

    I had fever and headaches last Saturday morning up until Sunday evening. Hindi naman umabot ng 40C or something. Giniginaw rin ako kasi umuulan nung days na yun eh. Monday wala na I felt well, although may lasa pa rin dila ko, parang gamot so siguro galing sa biogesic. Tuesday was also okay except that I felt a sore throat coming. Kahapon yun na nga pero mild lang. Then nung evening habang pauwi I noticed red spots sa forearms ko. They did not itch, no pain, no anything. Andun lang sila. Dun lang, from fingers to upper arm, meron din sa thighs and ankle and torso but konti lang and hindi halata. Yung arms lang talaga. Hanggang ngayon nandiyan ma rin sila. Para siyang ganito:

    except na mas spread out and mas maliliit na dots siya. I was thinking dengue rash kaya to? Pero wala naman akong fever na. Should I be concerned?
