"I'm going to be honest with you man, watching him against Cotto, I don't even think he is a good fighter no more. You know what I took away from the Cotto fight? Pacquiao can't fight at all man. That man don't move his head…when Cotto still had his wits and was ducking underneath and moving his head, Pacquiao couldn't touch him. Pacquiao couldn't hit me if I was asleep. He is strong and fast, but that man can't fight…I'm going to tell you exactly what I saw out of Pacquiao. He throws the same combination…Lil Floyd is miles ahead of Pacquiao in the skills department! If they make that fight, Lil Floyd got something for him," stated world-renowned trainer Floyd Mayweather Sr. as he shared his thoughts on Manny Pacquiao's performance in his recent win over Miguel Cotto and what will happen if he does indeed face his son, Floyd Mayweather Jr. Check it out!

    Cool

During this intense negotiation the Pacquiao / Mayweather fight i hope the purse should NOT be split and but the big portion goes to Manny Pacquiao. If the Negotiation will be base according to the last fight between Marquez and Mayweather it's not even close. Marquez is the thing of the of the past as far as Pacquiao is concern. This should NOT be a benchmark and gauge Pacquaio base on their previous fights. As what Mayweather said Pacquiao is one dimensional fight yes this is true during the Marquez and Pacquiao's era...Now is different Manny Pacquiao have to two(2) lethal hand Not One (1) that will send you to kingdom come if you underestimate the power. The 60/40 will be fair for the fight Manny 60 -- 40 to Floyd jr. Pacquiao do not need Mayweather Jr. at all. Mayweather needs Pacquiao for two reason one is prestige and the other is MONEY...Pacquiao is going to beat Mayweather just like the others speed and power kills....

(Sniff sniff sniff) Hmmmmm I smell pussy!!!! That you Daddy Floyd? Junior? Uncle Roger?

If there is one part of a man that you can hurt even without laying a finger on, its his ego. Floyd sr. ego hurts way more than hattons chin when manny whacked him out in less than 6 minutes.

Kabooooooooom! See ya! wouldnt wana be ya!

Manny made Floyd Sr. look like an idiot in that fight, he is so desperate at getting retribution, he will pull out all the stops to destroy manny off the ring cause he cant do that on it.

Sa lahat ng pre-fight preparation na napanood ko, noon lang ako nakakita ng trainer na inaagawan ng spot-light yung alaga nya.

That ladys and gentlemen is a lesson in putting a loud-mouthed punk in his place. Dont fight him back by talking sh!t back, knock the living sh!t out of him or his fighter! Thats how you take care of business!

This afternoon, I reminisced and read some post Pacman-Hatton articles. Natatawa ako sa mga antics ni Mayweather Sr and how he stealthily abandoned his fighter when Hatton was crushed on the second round.

Man, if there's one good thing about what he's doing, he's adding to the hype of the incoming Pacman-Mayweather bout. Libre promotion na rin yan.

    Hayaan nyo lang.

Well ganyan talaga kasi mga egoy. I dont mean to be racist and all that, but if you will look sa ibang forums, marami rami ding mga egoy ang todo tangol sa mag-amang mayweather dyan sa steroid issue na yan. One even said that its impossible for asians to bulk up that big too quickly. Actually if you ask me, black people in the US are more racist than the white people. Its them who turn everything into a racial issue. Mas madalas pa nga sila mang-maliit ng mga asyano kesa sa mga puti. But anyway, I cant blame them though, the mayweathers represent the typical ghetto gangsta dream, in the same way manny represents the pinoy warrior rags to riches dreams. ghetto ******* like that (again Im not saying all black people are like that) look up to gangsta rappers and boxers, because its they can only excel in endaevors that will allow them to carry their thuggish culture.

Some ******* cant accept the fact that it aint one of their own whose on top of the sport anymore. And it kills them that Manny has proven that you dont need to be a trash talking punk, or a ghetto thug in da hood to be an entertaining fighter. So now they are going to destroy manny outside of the ring by making these accusations of steroid use, and insulting us asians that we cant measure up to them physically.

But unless they can prove anything (and I am not saying that they can even come close to), the steroid issue will just die a natural death, and the world will once again celebrate how an underestimated little man humbled an arrogant big man

No Financial Road Blocks to Pacquiao-Mayweather

    November 28, 2009 By GREG LOGAN greg.logan@newsday.com

Word is that the first meeting last week between Manny Pacquiao promoter Bob Arum and Floyd Mayweather representative Richard Schaefer was so good that "it was almost shocking," one anonymous boxing business source said.

Top Rank's Arum and Schaefer, who is CEO of Golden Boy Productions, have a strong relationship, and it was just the two of them who sat down for a face-to-face lunch with no attorneys present to hash out the numbers and take them back to the fighters. There's a gag order in effect until the negotiating process reaches its conclusion, but there were no major hangups regarding money for a fight Arum previously said could generate $80 million in revenue. The best indications are that a deal is very close with only some relatively small details remaining to be worked out.

The target date for the fight looks like May 1, but there's no indication yet of the site. Las Vegas casino owners have offered to construct a temporary stadium on the Strip, and Arum also has an offer from Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones to hold the welterweight title bout in the Cowboys' new stadium.

It should be noted this is just the beginning of a process. Mayweather has been known to make difficult demands in the past, and Pacquiao is back in the Philippines, where he works through his attorneys. No contracts have been drawn up yet and Arum and Schaefer are likely to meet again soon. But the simple fact that no major financial roadblocks came up in the first meeting is the best indication that the fight the public wants to see will get done. And soon.

try this for the split negotiation.

both fighters agree to a 40/40 split, with the victor earning the remaining 20% of the purse?

    sounds fair right?

catchweight? 147lbs siguro pwede na. kaya naman ni pacquiao yun kasi nag 145 sya kay cotto mabilis pa din siya.

according to espn, tentative fight will be on may 2010. if this is true, then the deal should be done before the year ends. this fight is too good and too bankable not to happen.

prediction? my heart says pacquiao but stat-wise I feel that Mayweather has a better chance of winning this fight. Not by KO, but via split or unanimous decision. let's just pray that the deal pushes through before january 2010.

    Pacquiao-Mayweather bout closer

The proposed super fight between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather is getting closer.

Mayweather agreed to terms for the welterweight title bout on Tuesday, multiple sources with knowledge of the negotiations told ESPN.com.

The proposed date is March 13, although there is a chance it could move to May 1, sources said. Mayweather, according to a source close to him, is OK with either date.

Pacquiao and Mayweather have fought recent bouts at catch weights. However if they complete their deal, the bout would be contested at 147 pounds, the maximum for a welterweight fight, a source said.

Top Rank's Bob Arum, who promotes Pacquiao (50-3-2, 38 KOs), was flying to the Philippines on Tuesday night to meet with Pacquiao and try to close his side of the deal.

Arum spent much of Tuesday getting open issues resolved in his negotiations with Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer, who represents Mayweather, sources said. Once Arum was able to do that, he left for the Philippines and is expected back on Monday.

If the HBO PPV fight happens on March 13, it would force the tentative HBO PPV fight between light heavyweights Roy Jones Jr. and Bernard Hopkins to move to another date. Hopkins and Jones both fight Wednesday and must win for their fight to go through.

The site for Pacquiao-Mayweather remains up in the air. There is interest from Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones to bring the fight to his new stadium. There is also interest from venues in Las Vegas, including the MGM Grand (which has hosted several Pacquiao and Mayweather fights), and the Superdome in New Orleans in hosting a fight many believe will break the all-time record for pay-per-view buys, which is the 2.44 million units sold for Mayweather's 2007 split decision victory against Oscar De La Hoya.

The fight moved front and center with heavy public demand for it following Pacquiao's dominant 12th-round knockout of Miguel Cotto to win a welterweight title on Nov. 14. The victory gave Pacquiao a title in a record-breaking seventh weight division and 1.25 million pay-per-view units.

Mayweather (40-0, 25 KOs), who has won titles in five divisions, came out of a brief retirement in September to dominate Juan Manuel Marquez in a fight that generated 1.05 million buys.

Just a few days after Pacquiao's win over Cotto, Arum and Schaefer began negotiations.

One wrench in the talks was the date. Arum, Schaefer and HBO wanted to slot the fight on May 1. However, Pacquiao announced his candidacy for a congressional seat in the Philippines on Tuesday. With the election scheduled for May 10, it rules out a May 1 fight unless Pacquiao runs unopposed. Pacquiao lost the election for a congressional seat in 2007.

If Pacquiao-Mayweather isn't finalized, Arum has talked about matching Pacquiao with junior middleweight titlist Yuri Foreman, which would give Pacquiao an opportunity to win a title in an eighth division. Foreman defeated Daniel Santos to win a 154-pound belt on the Pacquiao-Cotto undercard.

Schaefer has talked about bringing Mayweather to England to match him with Matthew Hatton in the event Pacquiao-Mayweather isn't made. Hatton is the brother of Ricky Hatton, the former junior welterweight and welterweight titlist whom Mayweather knocked out in 2007.

Chavez Jr.? This guy does not deserve to fight Pacquiao. Heck he does not even deserve his name to be mentioned with Pacquiao. Sino na ba mga nakalaban ni Chavez Jr.? I know he is undefeated and all, but come on! Its only because he aint fighting nobodies. Ang lakas naman ng loob nya hamunin si Pacquiao, e samantalang sikat lang naman siya dahil sa Pangalan ng erpats nya. For a junior middleweight this guy is skinny, and does not have good muscles. Manny would blast this guy up in the stratosphere if he even shares the ring with him. Talunin nya na lang muna at the very least yung mga natalo ni Pacquiao. Kahit siguro si Hatton man lang at welterweight.

Mayweather talaga dapat labanan ni Manny. Id be pissed off if he fights Yuri Foreman. Kasi halatang cherry picking na yun. Foreman does not even have the respect as a champion. He is just a bum who won the WBA belt from another Bum

This is true. More blacks put Asians down. Kasi, in the US a lot of Asians are trying to be black and they don't like that. Second, they don't like it when Asians eclipse blacks in the corporate world, in school. etc.

Anyway, Mo Twister blogged that the fight is ON! March 13 daw?! It's in ESPN na pala http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/box...ory?id=4705330

This dude's a cherry picker. For somebody with zero loss, he looks a little bit on the soft side and is miserably slow with both feet and hands. I'm not too sure about his chin, but I'd like to find out how tough he is with a strong fighter. Tried to remember a big fighter he demolished, can't get any. Feel free to fill me if there's anyone worth mentioning. (Kung wala na lang talaga makalaban si Pacman, mas pipiliin ko pa si Valero over this stat-padder.)

He should work his way up. Di yung pilit isinisiksik yung sarili sa mga nakalinya kay Manny.

Pati tong si Williams gusto makisali sa gulo. Although I wouldn't mind a Paul-Pacman fight. It scares the hell out of most Pacman fans. But if Manny dodges Paul (let's assume that all odds go perfectly towards this match up), he won't be any different from Mayweather.

And true, it'll be disappointing if Team Pacman opts for the slow punching Foreman just a possible 8th.
