Ang ating pinaka-paboritong Kapuso actress ay sobrang busy nowadays with a soap, a talent show, and an upcoming movie to boot. Ngunit marami pa tayong natuklasan tungkol sa beautiful young actress. Anu-ano ba ang mga ito? Text by Erick Mataverde. Photos by Mitch S. Mauricio.

Iza Calzado, siyempre, ibinalita niya muna sa amin ang mga pinakahuling balita about her. She mentioned that she "…[has]
StarStruck; I will be part of the council, like a judge. As for soap operas, I don't know what's next for me but I will be finding out soon enough. And I will let you know as soon as I can."
At katulad din ng mga contenders sa reality talent show kung saan siya ay magiging heavily involved, inamin din sa amin ni Iza na marami pa siyang balak gawin to showcase and improve ang marami pa niyang mga kakayanan.
"Gusto kong kumanta. I want to learn how to sing. Hindi naman belting. Actually, pangarap ko kasi magkaroon kami ng song ng kuya ko, kasi my brother is a rapper," Iza confided. "We do have one short one—he came out with a single and I was pretty much chanting, as part of it. But, hindi, hindi naman singing 'yun eh. Iba 'yung singing sa chanting."
And she even considers hosting as a full-time option in the future. At kailan kaya ito?
"Yes, in time I would probably consider [hosting]—if I do end up with a family. It's an option, 'di ba? Kasi hindi ko rin alam kung kaya kong magpuyat forever [like now]," answered Iza.
Though she admits that she still has a lot to learn. Like when she hosted in
Chika
Minute, she had to keep herself in touch with the latest gossip.
"Nakakatawa nga, sa Chika Minute sila pa ang nagkuwe-kuwento pa sa akin ng mga latest showbiz intriga," Iza confessed. "I just deliver them. Siyempre dahil naging host ako ng Chika Minute, nalaman ko 'yung latest intriga."
In terms of acting naman, binaggit sa amin ni Iza na mayroon pa rin siyang role that she would find a challenge: "I like ['yung] parang Fatal Attraction, ['yung kay]Glen Close. I really like that role."
Ano naman ang mga plano ni Iza this coming Yuletide season?
"This Christmas? I don’t' know yet. Kasi ang akala ko matatapos na kami ng taping ng
Kaya Kong Abutin Ang Langit (KKAL)," she replied. "Ang alam ko rin magpro-promote ako for Panday, pero KKAL got extended so baka magte-taping kami before Christmas. So hindi ko rin alam kung papaano ang magiging schedule ko. Plus there is StarStruck."
Iza chose not to answer about speculations on a sequel to the successful fantasy series Encantadia, but she would be very much welcome to do similar roles na maaksyon.
"Yes, Amihan (her character in Encantadia) was somewhat of an action hero. It could be pretty challenging, kasi it will take a lot from you," she said in parting.
