it's time for abc to make a stand dahil damay na rin sila dito, tanda ko pa dati bago madominate "daw" (daw kasi tampered pala) ng gme ang ratings ang dami dami commercial ng ibc 13 (pba), rpn 9 (marimar, and holiwood tv series) bat ngayon ang pba at pati ibang programa ng abc ala na masyado advertisement? nakakapagtaka di ba? pero ang q11 na kabagobago aba ang daming commercial. kaya abc kung gusto nyo makakuha ng advertisement paninindigan na rin kayo, you should voice out your position regarding rating bruhaha
Ano masa-suggest natin sa kanila?
Cooking show hosted by: Zara Aldana of PBBCE2
***
Intiendes, Zara?
Sey n’yo, Ysabella at Victoria?

Source: Balita Newspaper (Entertainment Section)
“There’s a big difference between being good and being great,” ito ang sagot ni Hermie Esguerra, CEO ng Makisig Channel, nang makaharap at mainterbyu ng kolumnistang ito nang one-on-one bago nagtapos ang 2007 at nagkomento kami sa values (enterprise, excellence, integrity, respect for the individual, teamwork) na nagtulak sa kanyang Herma Group – na mula sa pag-upa ng isang barge noong 1985 ay napalago niya bilang conglomerate na binubuo ng walong kompanya (Herma Shipping Transport Corp., Petrotrade Philippines, Inc., Herma Shipyard, Inc. – ang pinakamalaking shipyard na pag-aari ng isang Pilipino, Herma Port Terminals, Inc., Cleanway Technology Corp., Herma Corp. Rheam Strategic Technologies, Inc. at Herma Farms & Studs, Inc.)
“Well, there’s big difference between being good and being great,” makahulugan niyang wika.
O “being bad”?
Good for ABC going Digital!
Hopefully they'll make in-roads.
Soon ABC-5 will be the next largest TV network.. Kung gagawin rin nila ang lahat...

"Shall We Dance" Season 7 kicks off on Sunday, January 27

The seventh season of ABC-5's Shall We Dance: The Celebrity Dance Challenge kicks off this Sunday, January 27, at 9 p.m. The first batch features not only three but five celebrities who will be vying for a slot in the finals.
Shall We Dance (SWD) gives a second chance to former challengers who weren't able to make it to the finals during their first stint in the show. These are funnyman Long Mejia, actress Assunta de Rossi, boxer-turned-comedian Onyok Velasco and sexy star Angelica Jones. SWD's very own Dominic Ochoa, Lucy Torres-Gomez's co-host ever since the show started, completes the line up for the first batch as he finally agreed to be a contestant in the dance challenge.
Dominic was asked time and again to dance in the show but he would agree only during TV specials. But this time, Dominic is up for a bigger challenge.
Dom, together with partner Michelle Valdez, has been doing rigorous rehearsals because according to him the last thing he wants the judges and the audience to see is a half-baked performance.
Long, who first competed in the show's season 2, said he is more than ready to compete this time. When asked who he thinks is his toughest competitor, the comedian answered in jest, "Kung nandito lang si John Travolta, siya talaga ang toughest competitor ko." Long admitted later on that he is actually nervous but will definitely try his best because he doesn't like to disappoint his partner Raine Trinidad.
Onyok is also back in SWD, and with a vengeance. This time, he says, he is more determined to win. He and dance partner Olivia Cui will incorporate more liftings in their routines to showcase Onyok's strong arms, and more intricate footwork in the arrangements.
Angelica Jones says that she has moved on from her controversy with the reality dance program. She once accused Shall We Dance of being unfair because she didn't get the song she wanted for her Jive number. All she wants now, she says, is to redeem herself and prove that she can really dance well.
Assunta was just happy to be able to dance again in SWD. She and her partner Rodel Espinosa will try to impress the judges and the audience with their salsa routine.
Unlike last season, SWD has added a new twist in the dance competition. Whenever there will be a non-elimination episode, the pair who gets the lowest score will have to prepare two dance routines for the next competition. Also, the three resident judges Ednah Ledesma, Audie Gemora and Regine Tolentino will be stricter and harder to please this season.
And so the dance battle begins this Sunday night at 9 p.m. as Philippine TV's original dance competition of the stars, Shall We Dance: The Celebrity Dance Challenge, premieres its newest season on ABC-5.
At least, may Shall we Cande pa rin ang ABC. Buhay pa rin ang network na iyan. May wrestling pa sila every Sunday after this show.

PBA, mawawala na sa ABC-5:
ABC5 backing out of PBA TV bidding
By Musong R. Castillo
Philippine Daily Inquirer
First Posted 03:31:00 04/10/2008
MANILA, Philippines—ABC5, the Philippine Basketball Association’s television partner for the last five years, will not join the bidding to renew its broadcasting rights after reportedly being piqued at the way the league is handling the practice.
A very reliable source told the Philippine Daily Inquirer Wednesday night that high-ranking executives of the TV outfit, Associated Broadcasting Co., finished writing a letter they will send to the league after feeling that they are not getting a fair shake in the proceedings.
The source, who spoke on the condition that he is not identified, said that ABC5 received an invitation to bid from the PBA very recently, which gave it very little time to prepare.
Signed by its president, Bobby Barrero, the letter was supposed to reach the Commissioner’s Office and chair Tony Chua of Red Bull late Wednesday night, with the television network to make a formal announcement on Thursday.
Officials who handle the television coverage of the league were also to inform their respective people of the network’s decision after Wednesday night’s double-header at the Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, Quezon City.
ABC5 was supposed to have passed its first bid last Tuesday, but since there were “no points of reference to guide the bid, we had no basis on what to give the league,” said the source.
The television network will reportedly pay the league an amount totaling P70 million this year, the final season of its contract with the league.

The pressure builds up in Shall We Dance
As the summer heats up so does the tension among the remaining contestants in ABC’s Shall We Dance:
The Celebrity Dance Challenge hosted by Lucy Torres-Gomez every Sunday night at 9 p.m.
Host-turned-politician Teri Onor has once again been dominating the dance floor as he and partner Stephany
Sabalo topped the ranking for two consecutive weeks. Teri was in his A-game again last week which made the
judges Ednah Ledesma, Audie Gemora and Regine Tolentino very pleased. The question is: can Teri and
Stephany rule the dance floor all the way to the finals?
German beauty-turned-Hot Babe Jen Rosendahl and partner Gifford Gavieres placed second again which made
Jen a little disappointed. In her interview after the show, Jen expressed her frustration saying she hopes next
time will be her time to be on top. If Jen really wants to win, she needs to stay focused while enjoying the
dance as well just like what Teri has been doing so far.
Sexy star-turned-reality show big winner Keana Reeves and partner Marlon Aballe had some misunderstandings
lately but still managed to grab the third spot. Keana said she wanted to prove that dancing is also one of her
strong points. Apparently, what she needs to work on more is her camaraderie with her dance partner.
Simple man-turned-fastest rapper Gloc 9 and partner Victoria Huyatid didn’t quite impress the judges despite performing two dance routines as part of their penalty for getting the lowest score in the first week. However,
the pair was not eliminated last week despite being in the bottom of the barrel thanks to Michelle Madrigal’s
sudden exit from the show.
Yes, Michelle Madrigal backed out from the competition last Sunday. She said she’s having a hard time
keeping up with the demands of ballroom dancing. Nahihirapan na talaga ko e,” were some of her parting words.
It wasn’t the first time a celebrity decided to drop out of the show. It just goes to show how difficult ballroom
dancing can be so it must be taken seriously. Actually the secret is simple – they just need to submit to their
dance partner (he/she is a professional ballroom dancer after all), they must really give out their 100% and
more importantly they must devote some time to practice.

ABS-CBN, Solar Sports vie for pro league rights
By Ronnie Nathanielsz
ABS-CBN, which has for years carried the Philippine Basketball Association games to Filipino audiences abroad on The Filipino Channel, and Solar Sports, have been left to vie for the broadcast rights of the new season of the pro league after current franchise holders ABC-5 decided to end its partnership with the league when its contract expires at the end of the season.
This developed even as the PBA board of governors, after listening to presentations by ABS-CBN and Solar Sports, informed ABC-5 that the board, headed by chairman Tony Chua, said it was “ready to listen to ABC-5 in fairness to our present partners.”
Viva Sports/Standard Today learned that after Wednesday’s games TV director Dong Capinpuyan informed the production and technical staff that ABC-5 would end its coverage of the PBA games when its contract terminates at the end of the current Fiesta Conference.
It was gathered that the new Malaysian partners of ABC-5 were set to infuse new capital for equipment and programming, but did not include the PBA in its plans.
The PBA board has had meetings with ABS-CBN, headed by its vice president for sports Peter Musngi, but no commitments have been made.
But several board members including former chairman Ricky Vargas, who was tasked to lead the negotiations and serve as the board’s spokesman on the broadcast rights, indicated he was impressed by the track record of ABS-CBN in its coverage of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines games and more recently the Ateneo-La Salle game in aid of the PBA Players’ Trust Fund.
The integrated marketing and promotional capabilities of ABS-CBN and the pro league’s access to several of its top-rated and popular TV shows and the possibility of at least one game being telecast live on Channel 2 was considered a major breakthrough in an effort to restore the high double-digit ratings of the PBA during the time of the Vintage and Viva-Vintage coverage years ago.

FIRST READ ON PEP: Paolo Bediones to host "Survivor Philippines"
Nitz Miralles
Thursday, April 24, 2008
04:20 PM
The last time na-interview ng PEP si Paolo, wala pa siyang matukoy na bago niyang show after Tok, Tok, Tok!.
