FACT: San Beda School of Medicine SUCKS

unfotunately, I am most unfortunate to land in this school. San Beda in its full glory is good withsome other things; basketball is one, law is another.

pero yung school of medicine? shucks, patayan, wala kang mahihita. puro pera pera pera, and taas ng matrikula wala kwenta. Lokohang exams, mas lokohang discussions, puro mga lokolokong kaswela. Maraming nag be- beda para pasikat lang,, tsk tsk.

the fact that they dont require roundup NMAT scores should warn aspiring doctors of educational peril.

    Im transferring to another school.

yeah, studying Medicine (im particular to this course only) in SBC is a waste of life, money, and time. They hired doctors to teach you.. professors who dont give a fcuk about quality of education. They give you exams, very difficult exams but EVERYBODY PASSES. Thats because you get grades from some anonymous act of diligence like going to school everyday. I spent more than 100k in one semester onlt to realize I made a big mistake.

Again, San Beda is good with other things. But certainly ITS NOT MEDICINE OR NURSING.

i agree, downelink. sometimes we learn our lessons the more expensive way.

don't forget accountancy, nasa national top 10 accountancy schools ang San Beda

  10. #10
i must agree, magaling nga accounting nila.

What's your basis in criticizing these programs?

I know these programs may not be in the top shape yet, but I can't see the reason why you're saying the programs are not good at all.

UP professors? or UP grad. professors?
kasi sabi sa amin parang halos lahat ng fac. ng med is from UP. so iniisip ko kung prof sa med ng UP or UP grad.

Pero we felt the same way sa NMAT thing. They ended up transferring to either EAC, meron din sa AMA. Madami sila dun sa EAC. Sila yung maiiingay about Beda. Dami nila sinasabi, syempre lahat masasama, like pera-pera lang ang school, wala natututunan, walang kwenta turo, salbahe yung dean, etc. Kaya for us na nakakarinig ng ganun about our school, no offense meant, pero ang unang tanong namin e, "Anong subject ba binagsak mo?"

    @motorsiklove: Good luckl!

I'm taking up medicine next year and considering san beda as one of my options. I have a lot of questions in my mind and it would be really helpful if some bedan med students could share some info..

    a. Your batch has how many sections ?
    b. Stiff ba ang academic competition among bedan med students and was there ever a cum laude in the college of medicine ?
    c. Do you have foreign classmates ?
    d. Do you use scantron during major exams or still do it manually ?
    e. How do most professors grade you, objective ba ?
    f. What's the average grade given to a student ? Is it hard to get a 1.75 or higher grade ?
    g. How's the hospital exposure ?
    h. Where do you go for clerkships and internships ?

Any information, positive or negative, would be really appreciated. Thanks!

nakakatuwa ang mga post dito.. TS kung it sucks your grades should be at an all time high kasi masyadong madali sa iyo.

I'm currently a 2nd yr med student here in beda, in my 2 yrs of stay so far everything is ok for me, Hindi ko din naman feel na pera pera lang dahil halos ndi naman lumalagpas ng 100k ang expenses ko in 1 sem, naniningil lang tlaga pag may activity sa boung school like frolics ticket.. in terms of academics naman so far so good nagiging ok naman every year, I can see that they are trying to put a good program here, mas humirap at humigpit nga ngayon compare to prev. yrs kc nag bago ng dean..

-Right now there are 2 sections in 1st yr. then 1 section in 2nd yr. to 4th. yr..
    - when we take exam's we already use computer automatic n kc na makikita ang result, sometimes essay ang exam..
-yes, we have a foreign classmate actually every level halos meron.
-3rd yr. p lang may hospital exposure na, every afternoon of monday and whole day of Friday may duty sila.. If IM, Surg, OB, ang subj. sa QMMC sila, if pedia sa Phil. Children, if Psych somewhere in new manila sila basta private na mental hospital, FCM they are assign in cavite. pag 4th yr I think same lang, but im not sure with the details basta may additional hospital pa for a certain subj.

kung walang usok, e di walang apoy....kaso kasi may nag rereklamo na TS and may nag reinforce pa ng sentiment...

kawawa naman...kasi next time dont take risk sa mga ganyan, i would even put cebu doctors 2 notch higher than this schools med programs.
