P22k for 6-8 half-days is quite expensive. Mas mura pa ang online review. Anyway if you attend the CIMA briefing on the 27th sa AIM, you can ask those who passed last November how they studied for the exam. Kung ako kasi I will just take the 50 pounds online review.

I had a long chat with the CIMA representatives from Malaysia & Sri Lanka today. They will be at AIM again tomorrow 9:30 am for a presentation/ briefing for those interested to know more about the CIMA certification. No entrance fee.

Also, I was able to convince them to join the Accounting Teachers' Conference this April in General Santos City to present CIMA to the Accounting Teachers.

Hi Sir Larry, nag attend ako ng CIMA talk this morning sa AIM, Na meet ko in person si Ms. Peng and I got the brochure from CIMA and I got the chance to see the book from mutual. I think around 7 person lang pumunta sa CIMA talks including me. I plan to register in CIMA as a student first, then take the exam fo in operational management this coming November 2010. Mag review na lang me online and buy books sa mutual.

For 2010, naiba naba ang content ng CIMA? Meaning, Management, strategic and TOPCIMA na lang without CBA (certificate in business accounting) ??..

As a first time sa CIMA, anu ang dapat ko gawin??...Im thinking of review muna and take exam in operational management papers or first kelangan pumasa muna sa CBA??? which is first?

Also, nag inquire me sa CMA-Australia, the fee is P82K, good as pass ka na I think dito..one sitting lang kasi yung exam. And mas ok I think sakin yung CIMA kasi hindi masyado magastos..per paper sya..so u can take the exam papers in installment. mga around PHP 10K lang yung student registration sa CIMA online, kaya lang pahirapan sa pag kuha ng exam..ang daming paperssss..

    Many thanks!!!

hi..sorry i never was able to attend the CIMA presentation today as i was too busy with something else at work.I wish there would be another schedule of CIMA briefings for CIMA students here in the philippines.I've made up my mind already and I'm going to take the CIMA exam this coming November 2010 but havent decided yet if I'm goin' to enroll myself in the CIMA online review.....still a long long way to go..

For CMA australia,I think each of the participants in the CMA program of ICMA australia is required to submit a written case study paper (based on the actual scenario in their organization) at the end of the CMA program as this is also one of the requirements prior to taking the CMA exam for 2 subjects. If you have 20yrs of professional accounting experience, you will be exempted from taking the CMA exam but you are still required to submit written case paper study but if you have less 20yrs of actual professsional accounting experience, you will be required to sit for the exam and still submit the required case study paper.

Hi syote, I attended the CIMA briefing, sa Sri Lanka daw, students have a choice between going to a college/university or attend a CIMA review school starting with the Certificate Level. They have around 600 students in one class, talo pa ang CPA Board Review at Nursing Board Review natin. Outside of UK, Sri Lanka has the highest passing percentage even if English is just a third language in that country.

So far those who took the exam last November, puro lang sila self-study and only one failed in one paper.

Mataas daw ang "migration points" ng cima kahit sa Australia and UK.

Hi Sir Larry, ikaw ba yung naka red shirt sa cIMA talk @ AIM last Feb 27?

Pag cpa.picpa member eligible sa exemption automatic sa CBA (certificate in business accounting)?? or do we need to pay exemption fees na GBP 44 per papart. What I remember sa operational & managerial and strategy level lang and exemption without paying any exemption fees...?? CPA/PICPA lang ba may exemptions sa mga pinoy na gusto kumuha ng CIMA??

    Many thanks!

Hi james, ako yun, nakaupo sa harap. Kung picpa member ka, exempted ka sa P1, F1 & F2 papers. About the exemption fees, until January 31,2010 lang yata meron. Pero check mo kay Ms. Tam Kam Peng (Peng for short), email mo na lang siya sa tam.kampeng@cimaglobal.com

Actually, ang original plan nila is to charge P10,000. Nung akala nila 5 lang ang mag-rereview, tinaas nila to break-even. Tama ba naman yun? walang development cost. Hahaha.

Anyway, meron namang cimastudy.com, merong online review doon. 50 pounds lang per paper.

    Hi to everyone.

naguluhan nmn daw ako sa process, ahehehe.

Ano po ba iyong tamang process of obtaining CIMA certification?

I am a CPA, PICPA member din po ako. From my understanding, i am exempted sa mga papers P1, F1 & F2 (subject to exemption fee). And i have to take the following:

Operating level and the managerial papers E1, E2 and P2
    Strategic Level papers E3, F3, P3.

    Tama po ba?

    Salamat po sa magrereply

You are right, you need to pass E1, E2 & P2 before you can take E3, P3 & F3 papers. You have the option to take E1, E2 & P2 one at at time or all at the same time.

But for your first take of the strategic level, you need to take all. If you fail any of the papers, you may re-take.

Once you pass the strategic level, that's the only time you can take the TOPCIMA.
