We only feed him once a day and only what he can finish in a minute.

Getting a bigger tank is out of the question as our flat is quite small. It looks like I will have to stick to a single fish at the moment.

Thanks guys for taking time to answer my questions.

try checking tiendesitas. the last time i visited the place, there was a shop selling exotic pet like arachnids, constrictors, lizards, snapping turtles, and etc. but that was a long time ago.

compared sa normal uling, syempre this would cost a bit more. uling is so cheap, kahit saan mabibili. i believe you can use normal uling since pwede mo syang ma-reuse basta tuyuin mo lang maigi sa araw. downside lang nito, just make sure na walang halong chemicals like oil or kerosene, or else tigok mga alaga mo imbes na mapabuti.

yes, your right... lumalaki nga up to 3 feet ang koifish, but it takes a year pa naman... so siguro if that time comes, mayroon na akong bigger place for them to transfer...

nag brown-out sa amin kahapon from 8am to 3pm...

i heard a lot of comments na better pa nga daw ang deep well kesa tap water. based sa facts...

    - no chlorine or other chemicals.
    - filtered by hundreds of meters/layers of soil and sand.
    - literally free.

but i believe as long as okay naman at well adapted pets mo sa deep well water, no problem.

for beginners, i may suggest hydrillas. you can plant them on the soil/pots or you can just leave them free floating.

kung bare bottom tank mo, pwede mo syang i-bind using rubber band (wag mahigpit), then itanim mo sa maliit na paso, anchor them down using pebbles or stones.

depends on the live plants na binili mo.

    some plants require high C02.
some plants require a certain amount/brightness of light, not duration.
some plants thrive on certain temperatures.

Anong aquarium plant ang maganda that is low (as in not tall)? I want to add plants to my tank pero i don't want tall plants because my tank is not against the wall and i want to able to view it from both sides. Also kailangan di masyado malaki kasi i have a small tank. And will plants thrive if pebbles lang yung nasa bottom ng tank? I have about 5 cm of pebbles at the bottom of my tank.

    Sorry ang daming questions.

    Anubias Nana

can be tied on a rock or driftwood.
    low light requirement.
slow grower but doesn't grow tall.
    grows sideways.

  12. #1232
Looks good. Will that be ok with my goldfish?

Whats the plant at the botom?

might be, makapal naman ang leaves at stalk ng anubias. so kahit na makalkal ang goldfish, di nya siguro masisira yung leaves. also anubias propagates through rhizomes so you really have to tie it down on a rock or driftwood.

that's Pellia / Monosolenium Tenerum. a jelly-like plant that often floats around, but looks good if anchored in a clump.

  14. #1234
Ok next question: are any of those plants crazy growers? Will they regular (more frequent than monthly) trimming?

Also, are there Flowering aquatic plants? Underwater ha.

anubias does. here's my anubias nana with flower.

Cool. Thanks. The two you mentioned above, anubias and the pellia, what kind of maintenance do they require?

Pellia... needs to be anchored or tied to something para di mag-float (via sewing thread). Needs trimming if desired, tends to grow in a big mass if left on its own.

Anubias Nana / Petite... needs to be anchored on a rock or driftwood using green or black sewing thread. roots can also be planted on soil as long as the rhizome is above the soil, or else will decay.

  18. #1238
Thanks. I will probably get anubias on the weekend.

  19. #1239

  20. #1240
not sure kung magkano sa pinas.

but if ever you'd get one... i can assure you na hardy plant sya.

it's called Anubias Nana or Anubias Petite. there are lot's of anubias plants, but the Nana is the smallest.
