5 days..... even if you buy an automatic feeder nakakatakot kasi baka mag fail sya ganun din. What type of fish ba sya?

in my experience, i went away for a business trip for a month. left my neon tetras under an autofeeder. okay naman pagbalik ko.

the only issues i think of kung sakaling mag-fail yung equipment ay :

1. battery life
2. obstructions near the rotating food drum
3. moisture on fish food

even my colleagues here in japan, they go on a 2 week home leave then leaves their fishes with an auto feeder. ideal design ng autofeeder ay yung frequency and amount of food to disperse. yung tetra brand (gamit ko) may manual, 12, and 24 hour settings tapos nali-limit mo yung dami ng ibinabagsak na food.

@suave: pwede naman na 5 days walang feeding.. then i assume me plants naman yun tank mo, since rcs at tetras.. rcs would feed on the decaying leaves of the plants and tetras might feed on the shrimplets. baka nga lang masarapan yun tetras mo sa shrimplets.

ano experience mo sa pag keep ng tetras at rcs? are they okay as tank mates? yun mga rcs ko, otoncinclus lang ang tankmates, then nasa garage lang yun tank, lumot lang pagkain nila. di na ako nagpapakain ng pellets. water change lang weekly.

black substrate gamitin mo para sa shrimp tank.. yun mga koi ko dito sa bahay, namamatay isa isa, sobrang init kasi ng panahon, baka nafifish kill sila.. tsk tsk..

I am not sure sir, pero baka me ibang dahilan yun pagkamatay ng kois ko..

remember the fishkill incident last or a couple of years ago? the pond owners installed another pump for their ponds so water would have a high level of oxygen.

as of today, i have 3 casualties.. wag na sana madagdagan.

my dad told me awhile that he saw a frog recently in our pond. alam ko me lason yun sa likod nila, ineexcrete nila yun once they are threaten. one incident is a dog of my friend died, when it bit that kind of frog.

i consider those type of frogs as pest, alam ko rin sila yun sinasabing invasive species e. yun mga swordtail mollies ko sa pond, sila ang kumakain. naka tyempo ako nun sa pond, nakalabas yun ulo.. binaril ko ng airsoft, para umalis..

Post ko dito soon. Hintay ko lang lumaki ng konti. mga 3" pa lang yung diameter nila tapos 75 gal yung tank. di pa masyado maganda yung ratio nila.

Ako naman ok yung hot weather para sa mga discus ko! Hindi ko na nga muna ginagamitan ng heater kasi weather wise gusto nila. Where pala yung sinasabi mo na place to buy the shrimps?

Frogs talaga are pet killers. My dog once bit one and she almost died because of poisoning. Grabe talaga!

ayaw ko sana na magka-idea yung mga tetra na masarap yung shrimplets.
ok naman sila na tankmates, parehong peaceful. yung mga malalaking rcs nga minsan yung mas aggressive vs tetras.

yung tetras ko lang may problema ako lately. last weekend nung mag water change ako, parang natakot na sila after. laging nagtatago saka kahit konting movements lang ng tao malapit sa aquarium, tago sa sila lahat.
unlike dati na kahit ilubog ko yung kamay ko, ok parin sila.

hingin ko lang ang opinion niyo tungkol sa aquarium ko, mejo matagal din kase ako natigil at ***** lang ulit nagsisimula. May aquarium ako na isang arowana lang ang laman, pero malabo ang tubig at mejo parang may lumot. Covered siya ng bubong pero may certain time of the day na parang naaarawan siya. dahil kaya yun dito? or paano ko kaya malinis ito? ***** week ko lang ulit nasimulan at dati naman daw ay every week ito nililinis.


also, first time ko makapunta sa cartimar lastweek after bumping this thread. ok siya talaga at madame choices. however, wala yung mga inaasahan ko na nababalita before na may snakes, spiders...etc. wala na ba ganito ***** sa cartimar?

aside sa aqualand at cartimar center beside savemore, eto ba talaga ang kabuuan ng cartimar? or may certain parts pa dun na kelangan ma-explore?

try mo sa pet city sa cartimar, marami sila variety, medyo mahal nga lang. kung nagagawi ka nga lang sa fairview, bigyan na lang kita. kaso red cherry shrimp yun sa akin. or kung nagagawi ka ng tandang sora, meron ako marerefer sayo.

baka stressed. pag nag water change kasi, nagbabago yun water chemistry(temp, hardness, etc) ng tank mo. yung twice a week 10% waterchange, iba yun effect nya kesa sa once a week 20% waterchange e.. parang ganun.. sa shrimp tank ko, nag eevaporate yun tubig nya, dagdag tubig na lang ako.

kung green water yun problem ng tank mo, dapat maganda yun biological filter mo.
kung me lumot naman sa sides, i suggest manually scrape mo sya..

sa cartimar nagkahulihan kasi dyan dati, pero meron pa rin yan, tago nga lang, minsan bubulungan ka, or itanong mo sa mga tindero kung san meron..

kung gusto mo ng exotic pets, check mo sa sulit.com.ph..

pros ng trapal pond e, pang negosyo, mura at temporary sya.. cons, siguro pag nabutas..

balak ko rin gumawa ng ganyan pond, gusto ko subukan yun breeding ng tilapia e.

May 20gal po ako with potted plants para sana sa trio of guppies. Para po sa algae, ano mas maganda isama sa tank? Shrimp or nerite snail? At ilan po ang tamang dami nila for the 20 gal set up. Thanks

depende sa algae.

in my experience...

hair algae can be eaten by shrimps, but depende pa rin sa shrimp. amano shrimps are better cleaners than CRS or RCS because of their size.

nerite snails can eat brown algae from walls and/or decors, but cannot do with hair algae, etc.

mollies are good with brown algae too.

best prevention for most algae :

1. regular water change.
2. do not overfeed fauna
3. no direct sunlight

Balik fish keeping ulit, but just to keep a small tank. Really miss my aro, knife, oscars, shovel nosed catfish, gold fish before . Guppy na ngayon.

can't wait to go back there by August, and start again. imbes na lumot, puro alikabok na tanks ko. i dismantled my setups here, gave some to my officemates. but i sent my ADA aquarium though courier back home para dun ko sisimulan muli. i hope to setup a planted tank again, an iwagumi style and maybe some bettas.
