I like to bake, it relaxes me.
I even go on chronic baking sprees when I get stressed out.
Funny thing though, I rarely eat what I bake. My parents and my siblings complained that I made them fat. My husband and kids can get enough of them.

I usually make these depending on my mood.

    Chocolate Chip Cookies
    Oatmeal Rasin Cookies
    Apple Pie
    Banofee Pie
    New York Cheesecake
    Banana Bread
    Pineapple Upside Down Cake
Fruit Cocktail Cake with Caramel Sauce
    Vanilla Creme Cupcake
    Lemon Squares
    Brownies
    Banana Muffins
    Blueberry Muffins

It's easy. For newbies, make sure you follow the recipe's instructions to the dot. Most newbie disasters are from a failure to follow recipe instructions. Whether is measuring right or taking it out of the oven at the exact time. Unlike cookng where it's easy to experiment, baking is more precise, an extra teaspoon can make a big difference in the quality of the baked goods.

For newbies, I suggest to start with cookies and brownies before trying anything else.

^ So true. But since my mom bakes a lot, and I just do it as a hobby from time to time, I know enough to be able to adapt, improvise, and perform damage control when needed.

The most adventurous thing I've baked so far were Brazilian cheese puffs, or pćozinhos de queijo.

    you're not concern
    chocolate chip cookies.

when im lazy i just used the instant pancake mix and improvise on the recipe to make the chocolate chip cookies. it comes out tasting better too.

baking is really trial and error. the more u bake the better you get. once experience sets in... you already know that an extension of just over a single minute in the oven means a lot. u'll also learn to eyeball the cookie to know exactly when it's time to get it out of the oven to have the "baked through and through but not burnt at all" stage.

mas gusto ko rin mag bake kaysa magluto ng ulam like ginisa, nilaga, etc.madali ang baking just follow the instruction to the t lalo first time to try a recipe.Nakakairita lang mag hugas ng pinag gamitan na utensils!

Ida_0818: I usually scout around the net for recipes to try except for the 1st 3 and the fruit cocktail cake. Those were taught to me. Some naman from my baking books, I have a lot.

This is supposed to be the foundation recipe of Sonja's cupcakes. It's really good.

I'm into baking for emotional therapy these days. I started baking when I was in college and ang ginagawa ko nun butter cake and lemon squares... then nag-evolve to choco chip cookies... hehe...

lately, bumalik interest ko sa baking and so far ang na-try ko palang gawin are these lemon and cream cheese cookies na may bf recommended and granola (most adventurous one so far kasi first time ko siya gawin... ).

I'm trying to perfect Tres Leches. It's my husband's favorite desert, very popular in Latin America. I'm trying it with a twist though, I'm putting pastillas the leche in the middle.
