I really enjoyed eating shawarma as a snack when i was still studying in college. Kahit yung sa LRT central station o park and ride sa lawton. But when I worked here in UAE, the taste of shawarma is quite different from what stores in manila typically sell. usual shwarma dito ay chicken, konti lang ang preferred ang beef. wala masyadong vegies at karamihan ng stores, all meat talaga. tapos hindi garlic sauce ang gamit, parang yoghurt at walang chili sauce. nag-serve din sila ng pickled veggies kasama ng shawarma.

And the weird thing, pinoy-style shawarma is still better for me even authentic ones are just a few steps away. =)
