Jennylyn Mercado wins two cases against former personal assistant Mel Pulmano
Erwin Santiago
QUALIFIED THEFT THROUGH FALSIFICATION OF DOCUMENTS.
"...the undersigned finds probable cause to indict respondent [Pulmano] with the crime of Qualified Theft... Considering, therefore, that respondent, being complainant's personal assistant, had taken advantage of her position in committing the crime of Theft with grave abuse of confidence reposed in her by the complainant, there is sufficient ground to engender a well founded belief that respondent had committed the crime of Qualified Theft."
"Complainant [Jennylyn] claimed that her signatures in those checks were forged, hence, respondent [Pulmano] should be indicted for falsification. The undersigned noticed that except from her bare allegations, complainant failed to establish the accusation of falsification. There was no independent and/or corroborative evidence that was adduced to establish that her signature was forged. Therefore, the complaint for Falsification is vulnerable to dismissal," ayon sa resolution ni Tagaban.
City Prosecutor Donald T. Lee at, approval ni City Prosecutor Claro A. Arellano.
ROBBERY CASE.
Idinismis ng korte ang naturang kaso "for lack of probable cause."
Dinesisyunan ni Asst. Provincial Prosecutor Gloria T. Marinduque-de Guzman ang naturang joint resolution.
BECKY'S REACTION.
"Jennylyn and I are overjoyed with the results. Jennylyn's victory is my victory as well because it only proved once and for all that I'm not Rowena Pulmano's mastermind. I also won in DOLE. The labor case filed by my former staff Rowena Pulmano was dismissed due to lost of trust and confidence as her employer.
"Jen won her case with no bail recommended for Rowena. Jen's robbery and child abuse case filed by Rowena Pulmano was also dismissed.
"Like what I said in my interviews last year, let's bring this controversial issue to court to stop the humiliation and ridicule of trial by publicity. My reputation as a decent and protective manager was tarnished by Rowena's fabricated lies and stories. I was misjudged and ridiculed publicly by my former staff. She used my controversies to get away from her own crimes. My family was most affected and all I could cling on to was my faith that in God's time, I will be vindicated and the truth shall prevail. I'm also thankful and grateful to Atty. Joji Alonso and Associates."
ABOUT SHOWBIZ Ni Nitz Miralles (Pilipino Star Ngayon) Updated September 06, 2009 12:00 AM
Two albums at two movies ang nakatakda niyang gawin, plus concert.
“But she’s still with GMA 7, may understanding kami ni Wilma Galvante na as long na hindi nila pababayaan si Jen, mananatili siya sa network. Gusto ko lang ma-maximize ang singing talent niya and she has to work hard for her baby,” ani Becky.

Elyas Isabelo Salanga
Singer-actress Jennylyn Mercado feels that her reputation has been restored with the dismissal of the robbery charges filed against her by former personal assistant Rowena "Mel" Pulmano. Aside from that, she scored another legal point when her qualified theft charges against Mel were deemed as having "probable cause" by Quezon City Assistant Prosecutor Arleen Tagaban (click here to read the story).
"Siguro ito na yung sagot na wala akong ginawang masama," Jen said in her interview on Startalk yesterday, September 5. She said she was happy that the long wait bore positive results for her.
"Para akong nabunutan ng tinik," she described.
Jen's legal counsel, Atty. Joji Alonso, praised the prosecutors for properly reviewing the case. "Very thorough ang kanilang analysis," she said. "So, nakakatuwa in that sense na nakita nila kung ano ang merit ng kaso ni Jennlyn."
QUALIFIED THEFT A VERY SERIOUS CHARGE. Mel may have gotten out of a tight spot with the dismissal of the falsification charges against her, but she faces an even bigger problem. As it turns out, the charge of qualified theft may be more serious punishment-wise. If Mel is placed under arrest, she may have problems posting bail.
Explained Atty. Joji, "Depende sa amount. May configuration siya and in this case, qualified theft siya, so two degrees higher. Ang exact amount para maging non-bailable is P222,000. Since lumagpas nang P460,000, automatically non-bailable. The reason there being another consideration, of course, is the penalty that may be imposed sa ganitong klaseng krimen."
How much prison time would Mel get if proven guilty?
"Since this is qualified theft, automatic iyon na two degrees higher. So it will now range from 20 years and one day to 40 years," explained Att. Joji. "This is a very serious case. Akala kasi ng iba laro-laro lang ito, but these are very serious charges."
That explained, does Jen want her former assistant behind bars?
For Atty. Joji, the recent development is the next step in their case against Mel. According to her, the qualified theft charge would be filed, raffled, and the judge would determine the case and look at the recommendations. If the judge sees that there is probable cause, the next step would be the issuance of an arrest warrant. Atty. Joji added that there is really nothing Jen can do even if Mel asks for forgiveness, since the whole case would now be for a judge to decide.
But has Jen forgiven Mel after all of this?
or they could expand encantadia revealing that engkantasya, the kingdom of ina magenta and faye of okay ka fairy ko are actually adjacent to each other. tapus we'll see bossing vic (enteng kabisote) in encantadia.
hehe. i think Bossing Vic should have his own TV Series. I read before he is one of the top choices to portray ANDRES DE SAYA. pero mas maganda sana talaga kung ENTENG KABISOTE TV Series nalang.
Jennylyn Mercado stays at GMA but also moves to Viva
Having decided not to renew her contract with the GMA Talent Development and Management Department under Ida Henares, Becky is scheduled to sign a two-year co-management deal with Viva Artist Agency for a recording, movie and concert contract for Jennylyn.
This agreement does not include television which will solely be managed by Becky. She says, “I agreed with Wilma (Galvante) that Jennylyn will stay in GMA as long as they are giving her good projects.”
When asked if it’s possible for Jennylyn to do shows at ABS-CBN, she answers, “Now it’s possible but I intend to keep my word to Wilma.”
Jennylyn’s billboard as endorser of Belo Medical Group with Valerie Concepcion will soon be installed along EDSA. She’s scheduled to be on the cover of FHM magazine with Valerie for October with a Hot Mama theme.
Jennylyn has been managing her own finances as a lesson learned from the Rowena Pulmano case.
And here to give us a few more teasers is Mark Herras. Text by Jason John S. Lim. Photo by Mio de Castro.
Topaks, or Mark-Jennylyn fans, shouldn't fret though.
Coming from Paano ba ang Mangarap? where he was also partnered with Jennylyn Mercado, tinanong namin si Mark kung paano mahihiwalay ng mga fans nila ang character niya from the afternoon soap with his new character.
But because of the drama storylines, Mark says he cannot promise any comedic scenes.
"Tingnan natin," he says. "Baka puwede naman siguro isingit-singit."
To end, Mark invites everyone na manood ng bago niyang soap: "Abangan niyo po 'yung next show namin, kasama ko po dito si Pauleen Luna and si Miss Jennylyn Mercado. Panibagong show po na pagsasamahan namin ni Jen, and sana po mag-enjoy kayo and gagawin po namin lahat ng magagawa namin para mas kiligin kayo; at siyempre drama 'to, so papaiyakin din namin kayo, para ma-feel niyo 'yung story."
Mark and Jennylyn's new show, tentatively titled Now That I Have You, will begin airing September 21, Mondays to Fridays, before 24 Oras.

Mark Herras-Jennylyn Mercado love team back in new soap
Now That I Have You."

Matinding na love story ang ipakikita nina Mark, Jen at co-star na si Pauleen Luna sa "Now that I Have You."
- Fidel Jimenez,GMANews.TV

CHOLO
Managing department stores, theme parks and more, Cholo's character is a skilled businessman. While his true love and talent lie in playing the piano, being the only son a top executive left no choice but to follow in his father's footsteps, leaving the piano merely as a hobby. JODI
Jodi is the only daughter of Han Gyo-su, who is in the construction field. Jodi has dreams of being a pianist, but ends up working at Global Group. Her mother died suddenly and her once simple yet happy home life became a distant memory.Circumstances beyond her control would lead her to hide her illness from others and continue to put others first, her kind-natured character always shining through. Difficulties at home with her stepmother and cruel treatment from her stepsister created an environment that made her bear the burden of her illness alone. Jodi has a gentle exterior, but a tough spirit. She loves only Cholo and waits for him.
TRISTAN
Mi-ra's son, Eunice's older brother, and most recently Jodi's step- brother who is working as an artist. Tristan takes little interest in others. His quiet, introverted nature adds to his mystique and makes his rugged appearance that much more attractive. He is highly self-conscious and has a tendency to approach a tough situation with a fist rather than with words, yet he is highly sympathetic. His life is filled with hatred towards the mother that abandoned him, Mi-ra. He has the sad fortune of falling in love with Jodi, who becomes the forbidden fruit as his stepsister.
EUNICE
As the daughter of Mi-ra, sister of Tristan and stepsister of Jodi, Eunice is working as a director at Global Group. She graduated with a master's degree in management from New York University. Eunice's charming and beautiful appearance mask this double-faced girl who is out to get what she wants at any cost.
She can't stand Jodi, who is in the way of her getting the man that she wants, Cholo. There is nothing stopping her evil nature.
Jennylyn Mercado braces for daring show with ex-BF
By JAJA RODRIGUEZ-DELEO
September 10, 2009, 3:30pm
Actress Jennylyn Mercado said her forthcoming project with her ex-boyfriend, actor Mark Herras, is bound to be more daring than her previous works.
The show that Jennylyn refers to is GMA-7 TV series “Now That I Have You,” which is set to replace “All My Life” soon.
“Hindi pa namin nakikita yung script pero nararamdaman ko, oo (mas daring 'to),” she said in a “Startalk” interview.
When asked if they are ready for talks of romantic reconciliation between them, Jennylyn said, “hindi naman po malayong mangyari iyon, kaya lang mas naka-focus kami ngayon sa show.”
“Now That I Have You” is a story of two friends (played by Jennylyn and Pauleen Luna) who are both falling for the same guy (Mark Herras). The series will be directed by Joel Lamangan, who helmed 2006’s “Blue Moon,” which also starred Mark, Jennylyn, and Pauleen.
Apart from the series, Mark and Jennylyn will also be seen in “Babang Luksa,” a film produced by GMA Films and Reality Entertainment, coming in theaters on November 4.
Jennylyn recently hogged the news with her victory in all her two cases against former personal assistant Rowena “Mel” Pulmano. The cases include the dismissal of resolution for the qualified theft case filed by Jennylyn against Mel, and the dismissal of Mel’s robbery and child abuse case against Jennylyn.
Jennylyn will also be signing up with Viva Artist Agency for a recording, movie, and concert contract. She will still do TV shows for GMA-7 even without a contract “so long as these are good projects.”
The actress’ billboard for Belo Medical Group will be erected along EDSA in the coming days. She will also be on the cover of a men’s magazine next month.

Jennylyn Mercado is ending her 'Dear Friend' stint—and starting a new show on prime time soon. Sa pictorial ng 'Ikaw Sana', kinausap namin si Jen on what her fans should expect sa dalawa niyang shows. Text by Jason John S. Lim; with Interviews by Erick P. Mataverde. Photos by Mio de Castro.
"Si Afi," ang pakilala ni Jen, who will play her best friend sa show.
Thank you, thank you so much. Sana hindi kayo magsawa."
"’Yun lang. Sana suportahan nila, subaybayan nila at mahalin nila itong soap namin. Sana matuwa sila," she ends.
At sa pagtatapos naman ng Dear Friend, Jennylyn invites viewers to tune in this Sunday.
She says, "'yung message nung buong story, sacrifice. ‘Yung understanding between mommy and daughter, tapos sa relationship nila kung paano sila magmahalan."
As for what will happen on Sunday, Jennylyn says you'll just have to watch and see. "Kasi medyo magkakaroon talaga ng twist e. Unpredictable kasi."
Ikaw Sana begins airing on September 21, before 24 Oras. While Dear Friend: Karibal airs its last episode this Sunday, September 13, after SOP.
