MUKHANG sa pagsasanib-puwersa na nga raw mauuwi ang hindi mamatay-matay na isyu patungkol sa planong pagbili ni Manny Pangilinan sa GMA7. Ilang porsiyento raw kasi ng Kapuso network ay mapapasakamay na ni Mr. Pangilinan, at kapag nangyari ito ay hindi nga malayong magkakaroon nang merging ang dalawang television network.

Napakamot naman daw ng ulo ang ilang talent ng Siyete na umalis sa kanila at lumipat sa Kapatid dahil hitsurang hindi rin sila nakawala sa anino ng GMA. ‘Yung mga taong inaayawan nila sa rati nilang home studio na dahilan nang kanilang paglayas ay makakabanggaan din pala nila ng balikat eventually. Balewala lang ang pag-exit nila. Hahaha!

They may dispute each other's rankings, but when it comes to executive compensation, ABS-CBN is definitely way, way ahead of competing GMA Network.

ABS-CBN reported Thursday that it paid chief executive and child of owner Eugenio "Gabby" Lopez III and its four highest officers nearly P233.4 million last year, which works out to an average of P46.6 million each.

Lopez's charmed circle includes president Ma. Rosario Santos-Concio, Roldeo Theodore Endrinal, Rolando Valdueza and Ma. Socorro Vidanes.

In contrast, GMA chairman and chief executive Felipe Gozon paid himself and his co-owner, president Gilberto Duavit Jr. as well as Felipe Yalong, Marissa Flores and Wilma Galvante a little over P134 million, or about P23.36 million each.

The combined compensation still includes the last paycheck of broadcaster Miguel Enriquez, who retired from GMA in September 2011 as senior vice president for radio operations.

The wide disparity between the two networks may be explained by ABS-CBN posting a net income of P2.42 billion last year, compared to GMA's P1.7 billion.

Still, the compensation gulf may not be that wide, given GMA's profit-sharing clause for its board and executive committee that has been cast in stone within the network's charter.

According to that provision, both Gozon and Duavit are also entitled as directors to one percent of the year's net income "to be distributed share and share alike" among GMA's nine board members.

Over and above that, the GMA chief executive and the president are also entitled to another 1.5 percent of the net income as extra compensation for the network's executive committee.

That 2.5 percent works out to over P42.8 million for all. Do the rest of the math.

QUITE depressingly, walang bagong putahe ang inihanda ng bagong show nina Ogie Alcasid at Michael V lalong-lalo na sa segment na panauhin nila si Annabelle Rama.

Nagkakaisa ang mga nakapanood ng pilot episode na ‘yon nitong Linggo—ourselves included—na ilang beses na naming narinig at napanood ang pagtalakay sa likas na ugali ng feisty manager.

It lacked “gulat factor,” na inaantabayanan ng mga viewer ang mga never-before-told revelations ni Annabelle, but the way the interview went, kung hindi lang napakaagang matulog ng gabing ‘yon, any bored viewer would want to visit Dreamland and wake up to a sunny Monday morning.

Pero hindi ito ang catch (sa tila gasgas nang produkto ng maimahinasyong utak ni Michael V), balita kasing imbiyerna si Annabelle dahil na-move tuloy to a later time slot ang kasisimula pa lang na reality show ng kanyang anak na si Richard Gutierrez. And she’s reportedly heaping the blame on Ogie and Michael V’s show.

Sa paanong paraan kaya mareresolba ng Programming Department ng GMA ang isyung inirereklamo ni Annabelle? To borrow a song from the Sound of Music, although loosely altered: how do you solve the problem like Bisaya?

MAY nabasa kaming item na kabado na raw ang ABS-CBN sa pagmi-merged o pagsasanib puwersa ng GMA7 at TV5.

Ang tanong, ngayon pa ba maaalarma ang Kapamilya Network eh lahat halos ng shows nila ay tinatangkilik ng televiewers hindi lang dito sa Pinas kundi sa iba’t ibang bansa na may TFC? Saka ilang dekada na ba sa ere ang Dos at isama mo na rin diyan ang hindi na mabilang na pinasikat nilang mga artista, ang TV5 ba may na-build-up na sumikat? Waley pa!

Yes, hanggang ngayon starlet na starlet pa rin ang dating ng pinagmamalaki nilang si Eula Caballero no! ‘Yung GMA7 naman, poor second lang sa ABS. So ano ang dapat nilang ika-insecure sa napababalitang merger na ito ng Kapuso at Kapatid Network?

Mabuti pa, paghusayan na lang ng dalawang istasyon ang pagiging magkasosyo nila nang sa ganon makalaban naman sila sa Dos in terms of ratings! How true? My BFFT Pete A. na umabot raw sa 55 billion pesos ang binayad ni Mr. Manny Pangilinan para pumayag lang ang Siyete na mag-merge sila? Sa darating na June na raw ang start ng operation ng mga nabanggit na network. Papano na si Bubonika Bubogita na hindi raw talaga feel ni Madam Wilma Galvante at Mr. Barrero? Ito na kaya ang katapusan ng career ni Ferminata sa TV? Sana, lang magdilang anghel me gyud! (Hahahahahahahahahaha! I hope so, too! – Ed)

GMA FILMS: HIT OR MISS

GMA Films seems to be on a hit or miss trending.

They have produced some worth-seeing films especially during its early years.

Except for “The Road” in the recent years, the film arm of GMA Network doesn’t seem to be consistently making good films, even its co-production ventures, than it used to do. Their rom-coms, especially those starred in by their so-called tween stars don’t seem to make the grade. Their current production, starring Elmo Magalona and Julie Anne San Jose, hasn’t received much positive reaction either from writers or fans.

Maybe it’s high time for them to take better advisers.

Or filmmakers who have better insights on how commercially viable films are made.

Or don’t they know that two heads are better than one? Just asking…

KALAT NA kalat na sa showbiz na magdyowa na talaga sina Rhian Ramos and KC Montero.

Out in the open na raw ang dalawa among their friends. Kaya lang siyempre hindi pa nila ito maamin publicly. Siguro they’re waiting for the right timing.

Could it be true that because of Rhian, lalong na-strain ang friendship nina KC at Mo Twister. Bestfriends ang dalawa, sanggang-dikit at magkasama sa mga kalokohan, pero at this moment ay bitter enemies na raw sila.

Reports have it that Rhian fell in love with KC, dahil nakita niya rin ang qualities ni Mo Twister – madaldal, kalog, down to earth and witty.

Kaso, hindi raw matanggap ni Mo na ang bestfriend niya ang ipinalit sa kanya ng kanyang ex-girlfriend. Ayun, tila nagsolian na ng kandila ang dalawa. Pareho nilang in-unfriend ang isa’t isa sa Twitter.

But before doing that, nagkaroon pa ng patutsadahan ang dalawa.

True kaya ang tsikang sinundan pa raw ni KC si Rhian nang magbakasyon ito sa abroad recently?

Dapat lang siguro kabahan si Ogie Alcasid sa Boy Pick-Up the Movie . Hindi kilala ng marami si Boy Pick-Up, na isang karakter sa Bubble Gang.

’Yun namang manonood ng gag show sa GMA 7 ay baka magkasya na lamang panoorin ito sa TV at hindi na gumastos pa sa panonood nito sa pelikula.

Undeniably ay sikat na sikat na ang pag-isip ng mga pick-up lines ngayon sa atin. Pati nga si Senadora Miriam Santiago ay gumagamit na ng pick-up lines sa kanyang mga speeches. Pero sapat na ba ito para madala ang pelikula sa tagumpay? Let us hope so.

Career ni Raymart apektado

Sayang kung dahil lamang sa pagkakasangkot niya sa airport fiasco with Ramon Tulfo ay nawala na ng tuluyan si Raymart Santiago sa Luna Blanca.

Ewan ko naman kung paano maaapektuhan ng mga naging kaganapan ang role ni Raymart eh hindi naman siya ang bida sa kuwento.

NAPAPATAWA ang amiga namin when Marian Rivera was introduced in a musical variety show as Primetime Queen.

Actually, our friend feels that it was a misnomer to call Marian as such dahil hindi naman nagre-rate ang kanyang soap opera with Dingdong Dantes.

Entices, hindi puwedeng tawaging Primetime Queen si Marian dahil kakarampot nga naman ang televiewers ng show nito.

Kung big hit kasi talaga ang soap nina Marian at Dingdong, eh, bakit hindi man lang ito na-extend?

Oo nga naman. It doesn’t make sense na tawaging Primetime Queen ang isang artista na hindi naman nagre-rate nang husto ang programa niya.

SABI, kaya madaling na-inlab itong si Rhian Ramos kay KC Montero ay dahil may common denominator at mga qualities si KC na kapareho ng ex ni Rhian na si Mo Twister. Parehong DJ ang dalawa, rapper at matatalino. Well, ang pagkakaiba lang siguro na knows na knows natin my BFFT Pete A., ay mas well endowed itong si KC compared kay DJ Mo, ‘di ba?

Na-blind item pa nga na hindi carry magsuot ng swimming trunks ni Mo sa beach dahil kakapiranggot lang ang sa kanya, unlike Papa KC and his brother Troy Montero na mga huge talaga.

By the way, kapag tinatanong daw ngayon si Rhian kung kumusta na ang estado ng relasyon nila ng ex Papa ni Geneva Cruz, exclusively dating lang daw sila ng nasabing deejay ng isang sikat na FM Station. Ows! Bakit may nakakita sa iyo, Ms. Rhian, na inuumaga ka raw sa condo ni KC? Trulala ba itech?

Ano ang ginagawa mo roon at nagbabad ka ng ganoon katagal sa pad ng lalaki? Hindi ba’t ganito rin ang drama mo noong kayo pa ni Mo? Hay naku! May mga babae talaga sa mundong ito na hindi nabubuhay ng walang Papa sa buhay nila. Well, ano naman ang paki natin? kung doon talaga siya masaya, hayaan na lang natin.
