    just started lifting kanina. sinunod ko yung starting strength ni rippetoe. sarap sa hita ng squats. di ko masyado maramdaman yung effects ng bench press magaan lang kasi binuhat ko. takot ako bigatan baka di ko maangat. wala kasi mag spot sakin. maramdaman mo yung effect ng squats pag nag deadlift ka na. gusto na tumiklop ng hita ko. haha.

    I apologize kung naitanong na siya before, but I'm really wondering if it's beneficial to add complementary exercises after doing a regular SS routine? Kunwari, after kasi akong mag bench press, nag DB Flys naman ako pagkatapos. I usually do 3 sets x 8 reps for these complementary exercises, though 3x5 (plus warmups) naman ako pag SS lifts.

    ^You're just wasting your time and there's no benefit in that. The Bench Press is already hitting all your chest muscles with proper form.

    I would add dips and pull ups. You won't benefit much from DB flyes if you're just starting.

    I can't imagine mixing juice and whey

    adding extra movements will not necessarily speed up improvement

    Ang dami kong natutunan dito, I am starting doing the Beginners Program and hopefully magwork since ectomorph ako. Pag effective yung program magsheshare ako dito ng experience and tips. Thank you guys for sharing your advises here.

    can you give a low impact program for someone who has a busted knee and weak ankle?

    before, i used to do a mix of calistenics, cardio, and resistance training. but with current situation, i've almost forgone the first two exercises because these gives a lot of stress on both injuries. tried to do swimming but once or twice a month does not seems to have an effect as cadio.

    8th month on SS

    8 months na ako sa SS program, masasabi ko na effective sa akin ang program dahil napansin ko na nagbago na ang katawan ko. Hindi ako gaano nagdepend sa scale. Sa itsura at sa fit ng mga damit ko ako nagbase. Sa case ko nung 4th month naging visible yng changes. Although sa tingin ko hindi 100% na tama yung ginagawa ko form kasi dun sa ibang lifts nahihirapan talaga ako magincrease(particularly the bench and military press)

    mga sirs, tanong lang po. what workout can you recommend for "lower abs"? i've been doing crunches and other workouts for the abs for almost a year pero parang walang nangyayari sa "lower abs" ko unlike sa "upper" na medyo may development na.

    about my right knee injury, i got it when i was a kid. flipped and slammed my knee in a biking accident. just like any other kid, i hid my injury and avoided getting hospitalize. the knee sometimes ached but the pain was bearable. last year, the pain became frequent and after an off road biking, my knee imflammed for no reason. it landed me in the emergency room. the doctor extracted blood and liquid out of my knee. the diagnostic: there was tendon tear and the internal bleeding was pressing in the knee cap. the doctor said it would be okay within a months time but until now it locks up after any heavy physical activity.

    while nursing the knee, i was putting most of my weight on my left side which strained my left ankle. it started locking up. i also have a history of sprained ankles. worse event the right ankle had to be casted.

    activities aside from resistance training: thread mill, glider, stair climbing (not the machine but the stairs at trafalgar), biking (road and stationary), jogging, military press, swats, sit-ups, jump rope, swimming and a some pilatis with gym ball.

    stopped or reduced the intensity most of the activities which strains my knee or ankle. still doing stair climbing but no as fast as before. descends is a pain.

    height: 5'4," weight: 120-135lbs, body frame: semi heavy boned and
    gaining weight because of the reduced activity. right now, playing between 138-140lbs and the clothes are getting fitted. latest blood chemistry problem low protein.

    no yet but i was banking on the orthopedic doctor's diagnostic that it will be okay within a months time.
