    hello question lang po:

i had 2 credit cards, 1 from HSBC and 1 from citibank. these 2 cards were delinquent and nakaforward na sa collection agency since last year pa. i am planning to get a new card this time and promised myself to learn from my mistakes and now use this new card wisely.

if mag-open ako ng savings acct sa isang bank may chance po ba ako na maaprove sa kanilang credit card? i know that my name is already negative in the reports but do you think they wont mind it if I have an account with them?

hope some experts here or anybody here can enlighten me on this..

    thanks!

Well, basta lang wag ka magbukas ng savings account sa HSBC and Citibank. hehe.

Anyway, most likely the bank will give you a secured credit card first to test kung nagbago ka na then it's up to you if you want to convert it to a regular credit card after 1 year but hindi 100% na ma-aapprove ka ng bank.

You can avail of our "Express Start" program, wherein you need to time deposit an amount with BPI in order to be approved for a credit card.

In the normal procedure, we would ask for a clearance from HSBC and Citi that you have already settled your obligations with them in order for you to have a chance to be approved.

Feel free to contact me if you need any help.

yes i've heard about this program. this is a secured credit card right? so if im not settled with my obligations with hsbc or the collection agency yet, hindi ako pwede maaprove nito?

I'll try to answer the previous questions here para the next one who reads this thread will be informed.

    1. Credit card application results are deemed confidential. So its the bank's discretion if they want to divulge it or not.

    2. Have you ever heard of CCAP? That's Credit Cards Association of the Philippines. All credit card companies, in a way, are connected with each other in terms of previous credit card behaviors of their customers.

Let's say, you have a card with BPI that went delinquent a few years back. You have already settled your balances but what that leaves you is a taint on your credit history. Blacklisted ka na kumbaga. Same goes with unpaid loans, mga tinakbuhan mong utang sa banks or iba pang financial entities.

I believe mga 10 years pa bago nila burahin yung name mo sa blacklist. That is, kung wala ka ulit unsettled balances within that time.

It is true that the bank if they conducted randomly check with your requirements such as ITR they check it the BIR portal. And also the HSBC they check payments with the SSS. Please answer this... Thanks

I apply na kasi with HSBC for 3times but they declined my application and also with Citibank for 3 times declined and BDO for 3times but they declined me.... And the good thing is I applied with RCBC Bankard last Dec 2008 but declined and after that the RCBC Bankard sent me a MasterCard credit Card this May of 2009 I was shock kasi Declined nga me before sa kanila then they sent me but the CL was 10k hey its to small for me so i maximize my credit usage. And finally I pay it on time after 6 months my limit increased to 13k but it is small parin and then after a week increased my limit again to 20k hay finally mejo malaki na. Thank you RCBC Bankard..... And good news last week Metro Bank called me that they given me daw a new Credit Card so I called and confirmed with the bank and un they issue me an M' Master Card but I didn't know yet my limit you have to wait me daw to arrived my card. And finally Im waiting my new card in the courier...... Thats all.

    Angry

Why is it i apply with BPI for 2 times they declined my application since im a good payer and BPI is a biased they approved applicants without intentions to pay their card purchase... Check it out Mr Zamora of BPI...

    like bpi - jollibee hehe
    metrobank - red ribbon
    bdo - wala kuripot.

It does not that if you are a good payer, you will be already approved of a credit card, there are a lot of factors affecting the approval of a certain application, salary, relationship with the bank, previous loans/credit cards, nature of job, tenure, residence, dependents, other expenses, namesakes, and a lot more.

The fastest way to get a credit card is thru "Express Start". Wherein you need to time deposit with the bank a minimum amount of 10,000. 80% of which will be your credit limit.

    Mr Zamora of BPI
I understand that there are a lot of factors in approving credit card especiallyin BPI .
But whats the point the bank approved applicants but they abandoned their obligations unlike those applicant has a good back ground pays on time but the banks DECLINED so I really disappointed in fact I have a lot of people know they abandoned their obligations most of them are BPI Cardholders and I don't want to mentions their names... So its unfair...

Did Metrobank confirm na may CC ka na and ipapadala in 2 weeks? If not, call them and inquire sa status ng CC mo.

I'm not sure though kung sino ang courier ng MB for the credit card mismo so call them na lang.

  18. #78
Yah i already confirm with Metro Bank that i have CC ayaw naman nila mag disclose ng courier so if anyone who has a Metro Bank CC pls let me know the courier so I can make follow up with them...

I have a BPI credit card for 4 years now. I am updated with my credit card payments though I have only paid 45% of my outstanding balance, meaning revolver ako. I have tried applying for a Citibank credit card, but it is always declined. I am wondering kung ano dapat kong gawin para ma-approve with Citibank. I applied for a RCBC Bankard credit card online some time in October, walang nag tumawag sa akin for credit investigation, and a week after dumating na yung My Dream JCB ko. Ano kaya problem sa Citibank? Di naman sila nagdidisclose ng reason kung bakit nadecline application ko kaya di ko alam kung ano dapat gawin para ma-approve with them... ang labo nila.
