IMO feeling ko mas madali maapprove pag VISA ang brand na Inaapply nyo kesa MASTERCARD, what can you say about that?

wala namang kinalaman kung Mastercard o Visa ang brand ng credit card mo. it is really up to the issuing bank on whether or not to approve or decline someone's credit card application. you are borrowing from your card issuer and neither Mastercard or Visa.
siguro magkakaiba ang fee, royalty or licensing structure ng Mastercard and Visa kaya hindi lahat ng credit card company sa Pilipinas nago-offer pareho ng Mastercard at Visa. for example, BPI only issues Mastercard and Unionbank only issues Visa.
I think you're right 8 out of my 11 Credit cards are Visa and only 3 are Mastercard. Eventhough, I specifically indicated that I'm applying for mastercard, when the card was approved and delivered it was Visa and not mastercard
OT.
My BDO application is always declined! Is it because my savings account with them is always below the ADB ( P2,000 )?.
I had a friend who is just earning P4,000 a month and they gave him a credit card without him applying for it!! Maybe because his uncle remits P30,000 a month to his savings account.
Anyway, I don't need you're card anymore!! I had citibank, Hsbc and BPI which give me a lot of perks.
To all BDO approving officer out there!! you're sending a wrong signal to your depositors.. Savings account should not be your main basis in approving!!
Monthly income should be your main focus, ( eh kung yung savings account eh, naka- pangalan lang pala, at ginawa lang pang remit, e di nabibigyan pa ng card ang mga wala naman trabaho! )
I - close mo account mo sa BDO.
oh Diba i have a point sa VISA ha ha! funny but parang ganun kasi ang deal.
ha ha ha! andyV. mashado galit natin sa BDO ah.. ako din sobrang inis sa service pati pag enroll sa online banking it will take 2 to 3 weeks, sa Metrobank less dan 2 days lang naagamit ko na.
ang BDO sa customer service, follow up etc. Sobrang bagal badtrip! minsan kahit sobrang laki din ng saving account mo sakanila di ka nmn maapprove sa BDO,i read sa mga post dito na some ot them have 6 numbers deposite sa account nila but yet declined pa din, di natin alam kung pano at ano basis nila ng Credit Worthiness na tao para sakanila ha ha! natawa nmn ako sa isa mong post about sa puro pa cute ang mga tellers ng BDO hahaha!! that is so true! puro dalagita kasi mga kinukuha ng BDO para siguro maka attract ng mga D.O.M. na mag deposit ng mas malaking pera sakanila.
pero di nmn po siguro lahat ng binibigyan ng pre-approved card ng BDO is not credit worthy(not sure kung eto right term hehe), pinadalan dad ko 3 years ago but until now his history is at shape.![]()
obsessed sa credit card ang iba dito.
bottom line, if you are not credit worthy neither BDO and Bankard will even issue you a JCB card or BPI will issue you a Philippines only red classic card.

Eh kung may cash mas better than using the card, diba. Why pay later if you can pay for it now.

Basta bayaran agad before due date walang magiging problema.
Iwas holdup hehe.
Mas ok bank to bank transaction nalang para safe.
nag-trabaho ako sa bank before specifically in its credit card operations. medyo na-expose ako ng konti sa credit card approval/review so here are some helpful information. case to case 'to pero these are general credit policies in that bank. i'm not going to mention the bank siyempre but this bank has been mentioned several times in this thread.
*edit* oops! very confidential information pala mga pinost ko. i could be sued and traced.
masasabi ko lang is sobrang daming decline reasons. more or less being declined has something to do with your incomplete requirements, address, income, job title, employer, records with BAP, delinquency etc. yun!![]()

a year ago (ata) my credit card application with Allied was declined. Di ko naman talaga kailangan ng new credit card but I applied kasi gusto ko yung isang credit card nila na may picture ng account holder dun sa card mismo. Nagulat lang ako that I was declined kasi ang laki laki ng account ko sa kanila, tapos BDO and Metrobank have issued me credit cards even though I did not apply (and yung account ko dun sa 2 banks na yun e halos barya lang compared sa account ko sa Allied).
Although in fairness to them, wala rin naman kasi akong steady income.
for me i was declined from eastwest bank cc yesterday. good luck nalang sa kanila i will not reapply with them again.
i will have to apply on secured cc nalang probably sa metrobank or bpi.
I declined an Eastwest Bank application yesterday. Someone called me at home for "employment verification". I asked her why she wasn't calling my office. She said that my home number was all she had. I asked her why she was hoing through all this trouble. She said it was because she needed this to process "my application". I said I never applied for a card so she could just tear up whatever paper she had in her hands and move on to the next case because I was not interested in their credit card.![]()
I am applying since 2004, up until now wala pa rin akong cc. I don't have any bad credit, I even have salary loans na fully paid at paid on time, kaya no records at all, pero declined pa rin ang application ko. I do not know what is wrong.
Maybe cc is not for me...
BPI offers the "EXPRESS START" program for those who want to have a credit card instantly! Hassle-free, with 100% approval rate!
NO income documents required!
NO employment required!
You just need a minimum of 10,000.00 to time deposit with the bank. It will serve as a collateral to your card but it is an interest-earning investment at the same time.

After getting declined three times with three different banks/issuers, I've decided that it's just too much hassle dealing with the obscure and arbitrary credit criteria of philippine banks (not to mention the usurious interest rates charged) and will just stick with cash/debit cards until I move abroad (hopefully within the next year or so) where there is a proper credit bureau/scoring system that treats people/borrowers more fairly. Till then the likes of BDO, BPI and EastWest can take thier cards and shove it where the sun don't shine![]()
i tried all the banks that i know and submitted all documents in flying colors. i dont have any unsettled debts nor tried bank loans.
but still, i got declined over and over and over again. i dont know whats wrong. i felt bad and humiliated. but i realized that maybe its not
for me and i believe that everything that happens is there's a reason behind. whenever agents call me and ask me to apply for a credit card,
i shrugged it off. its better if i dont end up with debts.
i know some people who ran away from their credit card debts and theyre proud of getting away with it. one said he owed citibank 44k+
another is 60k+. maybe banks need to RETHINK how do they assess their potential customers because I know that I CAN and I AM able to pay.

^ Try to deposit a sizable sum at a bank whose CC you want. Leave it there for at least 3 months and apply for a CC again or kuha ka muna ng secured CC.
