    window grills

My main door has glass window panels on both sides..
I plan to place a window grill for security purposes.
Yung hindi kasya yung kamay para kapag binasag yung salamin hindi maaabot yung door knob to open it..
    pede bang humingi ng ideas/designs?
i saw some stainless window grill pero mostly mga wrought iron.kaso parang hindi ganon kaheavy duty yung mga nakikita ko e..

Don’t touch that glass panel. Any steel restriction would defeat the purpose of the narrow glass panel. Instead, install a second door lock which cannot be reached through the broken panel hole.

nice designs peachy. Pero what do you mean when you said heavy duty grills? You might not want it to be too big (steel gauge) at baka magmukhang preso :-p

How about putting solid polycarbonate (about P200 per square foot, depends on thickness) or security film (about P400-P700 per square foot?) instead of the grills. How does that compare with the cost of a grill?

My contractor said na around 5K daw yung mga grills on both sides na.
Sya na rin kasi ang nag-install sa ibang mga unit don sa compound.
I'll try to post the pix of the door with the glass panel next time..

hi albert, if you noticed the design i posted, parang medyo manipis yung metal na ginamit. baka lang madaling icut or ibend basta medyo makapal pero hindi kasing kapal ng pangpreso..

I've seen houses na yung grills are behind the glass (inside the house) and ofcourse a lot put it in front of the glass (outside).

Looking from the outside, I like how the behind-the-glass design look. Very clean and neat. What do you think?

Didn't know grills would cost that much, I guess that includes labor. P5,000 would buy a lot of polycarbonate or security film, maybe even in the thickness range starting to be considered bullet-resistant.

How about aluminum grills, or aluminum or steel or stainless steel mesh?

i think medyo nga mahal.i guess, contact lang nya yung gagawa nung grills at syempre me patong pa sya don..although I haven't inquired sa labas (from a direct maker) kung magkano aabutin yung grills na papagawa ko..
i already saw the design you posted, agave. don sa isang unit. para ngang nakapattern don sa design na diamong ng aluminum screen door..
    hmmm..pede..

can not be yung behind-the-glass, albert.. no space to install the grills inside..nakadesign yung grills for the outside..

agave, hindi ba masyado naman weak yung aluminum?baka madaling ibend or icut?

I don't know how strong mesh is but I am guessing that different gauges of mesh are available, so one could choose whatever level of security is desired and could be afforded. It looks like you can also choose the kind of metal and the shape of the hole, e.g., diamond, square, circle, etc.

Can anyone recommend a supplier of aluminum mesh, steel mesh, or stainless steel mesh? In searching the web, I happened to find Aluminum Power, but maybe there are others?
