well, the games I play are mostly the old-school FPS (Quake 3, UT, UT2004, UT3, CS, HL)

Buying a PC (or upgrading an existing one) basically boils down to two things: (1) what are you going to use the new/upgraded PC for, and (2) your budget, of course.

That 170,000-peso super-gaming rig is cool and all, and hopefully the owner chose that because he has a specific purpose for it, and he (or his "rich uncle from the US") has the money to afford it. Getting such a rig just to be an "early adopter" or to just "show off", for me is highly IMPRACTICAL. Not that I don't agree with such reasoning, and like I said, if they have the money to afford it, who are we to judge?

first of all sarili kong pera yung pinambili ko, binayaran ko siya, dun lang ako sa US nagpahanap ng specs, second gamit na gamit siya in the sense I always do photoshop, flash, video editing, gaming, listening to my mp3's, and watching movies etc..in it, all I can say is sulit na sulit ako sa ginastos ko, and like you said latest nako sa technology in terms of pc specs

@adrian1234: Based from my experience, AMD Turions are hot, literally HOT! my sister is using a HP Pavillion TX2500z which has also a Turion Ultra and it reaches very high temperatures (more than 70C on load).

About expensive rigs, well kung magpapa ingit ka eh nasa sayo na yun

It's a nice rig but I have to comment on blinque's choice of storage. RAID 0 is good for speed but bad in terms of reliability -- if one disc fails, both are rendered useless. Make sure you do your backups regularly. Actually, if you got that much money to burn, maybe you should have used a solid state drive.

And I think there's a misunderstanding here. The graphics cards may be specified to be able to do Quad-SLI, but his build only has two.

Nvidia defines Quad SLI as having 4 GPU's and since there are no mobo's out there with 4 PCIe slots for graphics cards, that would mean 2 cards that have 2 GPU's each.

At present IIRC Nvidia only has 3 cards capable of Quad SLI:
- GeForce GTX 295
- GeForce 9800 GX2
- GeForce 7950 GX2

problema lang minsan sa SLI/CF configs eh kung hindi optimized yung game for multi GPU eh wala din, kelangan pa minsan ng patch or driver updates.
