Yung x2 means dual core, x3 tri-core, etc. Wag mo kunin yung Phenom na luma, mejo outdated na yung architecture. Yung Phenom II, nakakasabay sa Intel processors.

Yung RAM, go for 4gb. You probably won't need anymore than that. Brand doesn't matter much for it. Yung LAN card and modem, built in na sa motherboard yun. The videocard, I'd suggest an ATI HD4830 or the Nvidia equivalent, whichever is cheaper, di ko sure kung magkano yun ngayon, pero magandang bang for the buck yung value nun.

Also, add a decent power supply to your list.

Invest on a good Quad core CPU if you are into CAD and 3D apps (gaya ng sabi ni singularity, the Phenom II X4 series or even X3 series fair well with the Intel's offering pero mas mura), sabayan mo ng around 4GB ram na high speed (make sure you use a 64bit OS) saka reliable and fast HDD.
Sa video card mostly pang gaming applications yung nasa market, any decent one would do. Yung talagang pang professional CAD cards kasi eh sobrang mahal nun (ATi FireGL/FireStream and nVidia Quadro series)

On a side note, Quads are getting support from games as time goes on so a good quad or even tri core CPU is good for games these days (games like prototype, GTA4, DMC4, RE5 etc in which some can use up to 8 cores)

^^wow thanks to both of you.
siguro naman kung okay po yan sa 3D games, edi kakayanin na nun yung 3D animation? i'm still learning 3D modeling then saka na yung animation pag ready na utak ko.

  4. #104
business 3D apps/CAD or similar is not the same case as 3D gaming, so professional cards such as the ATi FireStream or nVidia Quadro series won't perform very fast on commercial 3D games, rather they are made for extreme precision on 3D designs and CAD (for the video card, that is)
Sa video card, get around teh level of GeForce 9800GT or HD 4770/4830 with around 512MB to 1GB ram pwede na for both CAD and games.

And like they said, INVEST on a good quality
PSU. It's one of the most underrated part of a computer system imo. My HEC 475W Power OP kept my computer well for more than 4 years now

  5. #105

  6. #106
^i was just saying a good brand PSU like HEC would provide better results. If you read his post, were using the same brand, except mine is older than his afaik. (im assuming he is using a HEC 550W Winpower, while mine is the earlier version the HEC PowerOP, but both are the same brand)

may mas maganda pa sir...*** zumax 750 watts.

12gb RAM is a waste.

yes i am using 64-bit vista ultimate...

hopefully guyz i can post photos here....

    thanks

@8choy: try scouting in TPC for aftermarket coolers for your HD 4870 X2, medyo mahirap hanapan ng cooler niyan sa local shops, mebbe online pwede.

@jmpet626: 9800GT in SLI would theoretically rank around GTX 260 216SP or GTX 275 i think, but imo mas ayus pa din kung single card lang. Not all games fully support multi GPU anyway , and that includes dual GPU on a single card (such as the HD 4870 X2 and GTX 295) Pero usually sa driver updates me kasama ng game profile for multi GPU, but i still prefer a single card solution.

    Help!

    Processor: Intel Q9400 2.66
    Mainboard: ECS GF7050VT-M5
    Video Card: INNO3D 98GT
    Memory: DDR2 800

Question is, with this kind of setup, what possible problems might arise? For gaming sana. Nasa 25k na po ito. Suggestions na rin po sana.

  19. #119
^^Possible problems?

Ano PSU niyan? try to get a good Quality PSU, wag ka kumuha ng mga generic or Dynamo PSU.
