^ as far as I know it doesn't come with a PSU. Also, it is always better to get a branded PSU as well; from what I know coolermaster hasn't made any new PSUs so best try brands like Corsair

^is it ok to settle for a generic PSU at the meantime while saving up for a branded one? the rig I'm planning to build will not include a video card yet (to follow)

ermon, what he's saying is that the generic PSUs (regardless if you bought it elsewhere or galing sa casing) is not an ideal option to use especially if you're using a somewhat-powerful setup.

From what I know, Coolermaster cases don't come with PSUs (aside from their mini-atx cases (if they do have one) ).

^yepyep I know. but I'll probably stick to my generic PSU for the meantime while I save up for a branded one.

I just bought my rig now:

    MSI 890GX-G65
    Athlon II x3 2.9GHz
    Western Digital 500GB
    Kingston 2GB 1333 DDR3

I don't have a video card anyway, jsut using the onboard at the moment so I'll stick to the generic PSU for a while so I can save up for a branded one

Planning to buy the same HD 5770 VC and another LCD monitor so I can have dual monitors. Anyone have any problems with HD 5770?

  11. #291
@froshie1 - in any case, it is always better to use branded. why?

a generic PSU would say it has a 500w but since its generic, it doesn't usually pass the 80 plus test, thus having a lower efficiency and a shorter lifespan - so that 500w is probably just 300-350w

A branded PSU would usually have at least an 80 plus bronze rating these days which means given a 500w, guaranteed sya 500w and over time it will go as low as 450 at average (this is after quite some time - by then nakapalit ka na for a better setup)

@RaschaD -> no problems with that videocard depends nalang on w/c manufacturer I suppose?

PC Express dealer's pricelist as of july 21,
    CoolerMaster 550w Real Power SL - PHP4100

    CoolerMaster M600 Silent Pro 600w 80plus - PHP5200
Please make those branded products as your minimum psu when you're planning to assemble/buy midrange pc setup.

I don't plan to settle with a generic PSU since plano ko din kumuha ng malakas na video card. I hope this is fine at the moment hehe.

ito yung plano kong bilhin na PSU:

    FSP Epsilon 80Plus 700w 3900

    CMPSU-650TXCorsair Power Supply 650watts 4,970.00

    go with the corsair
    very reliable
and sure more than enough na yan unless magSLI/Crossfire ka ng high end na gfx card

medyo natataasan lang ako sa presyo
I got mine for an equivalent of 3500-3600php

pero kung fair price yan jan, go for it

nope. kakabili ko lang ng casing na yan together with the rest of the parts. pareho tayo ng motherboard and RAM. i bought a 700W coolermaster silent pro separately as my PSU pero wala pa akong videocard hahaha i'm saving for either a 5770 or a 5850 or who knows what, maybe a new videocard model.

medyo may napansin lang ako, looking at the control center utility that comes with the motherboard, im reading 40 to 50+C idle on my CPU temperature and almost 70+C load when using Prime95's stress test. is this normal for Phenom II X4s with the ambient temperature we have here in the Phils? parang masyado atang close to the limit. im only using stock cooler at wala kaming aircon sa bahay hehe.
