Posted by TheYoungBlood... just echoing it to this thread. The highlighted ones are the covers I find very interesting.
There's lots out there but I don't think I need to mention the common ones. Here's a few that I find really... "surprising".
Elbow - "Independent Women (Beyonce)
Gnarls Barkley - "Reckoner" (Radiohead)
Hanaregumi - "Blackbird" (The Beatles")
Rumer - "Goodbye Girl" (Bread) <- Special mention since this one is ALMOST better than the original.
Viva La Vida by Taylor Swift (Coldplay)
High and Dry by Lady Antebellum (Radiohead)
Wake Up by John Legend & The Roots (Arcade Fire)
Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa by Peter Gabriel & Hot Chip (Vampire Weekend)
No Diggity by Klaxons (Blackstreet)
New York, New York by Cat Power (Frank Sinatra)
Just noticed that this thread is on the front page of PEx. Awesome!
Anyway... another one and it's good.
"Don't Look Back in Anger" by Maroon 5 (Oasis cover).
Featured Topic ang thread. At madalang lang ma-feature ang mga thread sa M&R. Thanks for the entries. Keep 'em coming.
Sino po yung nagrevive ng songs na ito...
Minsan Lang kita iibigin - Female version
I Cant find the words to say goodbye ( OST Lovers in Paris )
Iisa pa lamang
Another surprising cover by Maroon 5 would be their version of "Pure Imagination", the song from the original Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory movie.
Weezer is generally a fun-sounding band. It's quite interesting that they covered Radiohead's "Android Paranoid" esp. without making any changes to the original. They also did "Creep" before, but that wasn't as surprising. I mean, who else hasn't covered Creep?
Sweet Apes' Decode (Paramore cover)
Sweet Apes' October 27th (Breakeven cover)
Sweet Apes' All I Want (A Day to Remember cover)
All I Want
Sweet Apes' A Plot To Bomb The Panhandle (A Day To Remember cover)
A Plot To Bomb The Panhandle
I'm really proud she's half-Filipina, the vox.
"Running Up That Hill" by Placebo (Kate Bush cover).
Grin Department - Ale Luga (Bamboo's Hallelujah)
