^ nothing so spceial in Busan... except if you wanted to eat fresh seafoods, which I think is less better than south-east asian country.
Shopping areas in Busan are in Seomyeon area... on the streets... and cheap women's fashion and accessories on the underground. Its just on the underground Seomyeon subway station.
Another area is the Jagalchi-Nampo-dong area for the Foreigners market. Nothing special just stores.
Korea is not a shopping spree haven like Hong Kong but Korea is most famous for cosmetics. even the brandless one (they say) were effective and of high quality.
Busan is famous for beaches during summer vacation. Famous ones are Haeundae Beach, Seongjeong Beach, Gwanganli Beach, and Dadaepo Beach. Dont expect their beaches to be at par with beaches in the Philippines (in Boracay or Bohol or in Palawan) or Thailand (Krabi or Phuket or in Koh Lanta)... you will just be dissapointed. Im not bashing but Im just saying my opinion. anyway...
If you are looking for an outlet store... there is none in Busan CIty. However, there is one in another town beside Busan called Jangyu, Gimhae. It is about 40 minutes drive from Western Busan. Its called LOTTE PREMIUM OUTLET YARD. No direct public transportation to go there, but you can ride a bus to Jangyu at Sasang Terminal in Busan. From there, you can hail a cab and direct them to the outlet store.
Hope this helps.
^^thanks! it helps a lot. magkano range ng cab fare nila from airport in busan? and to the outlet store?
^ Not advisable to take a care from airport to Jangyu... Gimhae airport is not in Gimhae...it used to be part of Gimhae CIty...but the area now belongs to Busan City. If you can take a cab to Jangyu...you might end up paying about 30,000 or 40,000 won.
ang basic fare in Busan is 2,100 then 100 won for every 150 meter (or so)...plus fare augmentation for long stops.
thanks for the info
up ko lang this thread...anyone who's been to Busan lately?
our departure back to Manila is through Busan, coming from Seoul. Ok naba ang 2 days na stay dito?
Busan, South Korea, is located on Korea's southeast coast. A bustling city of almost four million people, Busan is filled with opportunities for tourists to enjoy this Asian culture.
Jalgalchi Fish Market
Korea's mountainous terrain covers 70 percent of the country, so fish has always been a staple of the Korean diet because seafood doesn't need grazing land as cattle and pigs do. No trip to Korea is complete without a visit to the fish market that is located in every large city.
Busan's Jalgalchi fish market is an experience you'll never forget. Metal and plastic containers hold every type fish imaginable. Koreans like their seafood fresh, and all the fish are kept alive until the last possible moment before cooking or eating raw. Between 6-7 a.m. is the best time to visit Busan's fish market. The anglers have just come in with their wares. Restaurant owners and private citizens want to make sure they get the best fish so everyone shows up early. The jellyfish wiggle in their tanks, waiting to be made into the tasty jellyfish salad, and raw fish is a treat you'll be glad you tasted.

Up ko lang thread na 'to.
Been to Busan lately and I must say that Busan rocks!
It is much better than Seoul in the sense that Busan has much to offer than Seoul (although Seoul fanatics need not fret since taking the KTX from Busan to Seoul is very easy).
I personally think the temples in Busan are better than those in Seoul. I visited Haedong Younggunsa, Beomosa and Seokbulsa and I must say that they are nothing like any temple that I have seen in SK.
WIll try to grab some rest and post some pics later![]()
Hi rap_sd6, do you have other recommended places to go to in Busan?
Thanks!
why yes, you can go to Gukje Market. This is their answer to Seoul's Namdaemun. This is a VERY big market where you can buy stuff and pasalubong.
Dont forget to visit Heundae and Gwangan Beach and Busan Aquarium. You can also do some underground shopping at Seomyeon. the world's biggest department store can be seen in Busan as well, in Centum City (Shinsegae). They got the best collection of groceries =). Much much better than Lotte Mart.
Thanks!how was the weather when you were there? I'm going there end of October..
any recommendation for a cheap place to stay in Busan? backpackers-inn types are okay.
^^you will never go wrong with any hostel near seomyeon or in Busan Station.
i recommend Elysee Motel. Its in Nampodong area. Just a few steps away from Busan Tower, few minutes walk to Jagalchi and Gukje market and few stations away from Busan Station. They have website and the owner is very accomodating.

^^Hi Knixx.
I hope you read this before you leave for Busan (since 4 PM lang naman ang flight goin to PUS).
Temp in busan is like Baguio although it gets really cold in early mornings (8-11C) but during daytime, a jacket will do and there's really no need for thermal wear.
For the temples, we visited Beomosa (via the Busan Metro Beomosa Station), Haedong Yonggunsa (Busan Metro Heundae Station) then take Bus 181, and Seokbulsa.
Seokbulsa proved to be the MOST difficult to find because it involves 2-hour mountain trek (if you've been to Coron, the terrain is like the trip going to Kayangan Lake but 10 times longer and more difficult).
Here are some pics:
