i didn't know it was too awesome and effective until coach mark taught us how to use them.
^ although I would love to make this thread a sticky, it won't qualify since its a more targeted topic vs something which is more FAQ for everyone.
the most I can do is feed the thread to keep it active![]()

for lower body development, double kettlebell squats combined with back squats have made a lethal combination for me
I'm gonna run another mini experiement next time to see how I can combine them with olympic lifts and try to get that bodyweight snatch I have been eyeing.

Sounds fair. Maybe you start a faq for kettlebells. I know that you'll have a lot to contribute on there. Everybody could share their thoughts on different ways of training with them. Always good for people to be informed.
But yeah let's feed the thread since that's how we got to know each other right
Looking forward to working out again with you in the near future.
^ you actually had an FAQ last I remember. Perhaps posting that is a start?

quick tip/rant: the swing is not a squat+front raise, its a hip hinge (bend) with a powerful hip snap...

Nagkakapasa ako sa kettlebell dahil sa mga snatch moves...
Normal lang ba yun?
Was hoping that would have been clear by now. However yes the swing could be done with a powerfull hip snap, or not so powerfull but still a hip hinge. It all depends what you use the "tool" for. I know the whole hardstyle and soft style as so many love to call it. I love both. They all have their time and place. I rather refer to them now as power swings and endurant swings. Just to add some more semantics![]()
In my experience it's that everybody wanna snatch right away like it's only there is to do with a bell. Sometimes same people rant about to early specialisation un sports etc. I believe the same applies to kettlebells. You gotta lay the foundations first. Build symmetry in movement, then symmetry in strength before working on the power moves. Or to put it in Gray Cook's term you'll only end up putting fitness upon dysfunction .

True that. However if we would go by the book we wouldn't advance to one arm/hand swings before first addressing movement imbalances and strength imbalance first before progressing to the one arm swing. Or maybe we could use the one arm swing on the weak side only? Haha. As you know brother there are more than one way to skin the rabbit( i never skinned a rabbit so i assume.
What i meant was that people always loves the money lifts right away, but not always wanna lay the groundwork first. And tons of snatches are not gonna make up for that. My point is that more, or harder. does not always means better.
Looking forward to more inputs.
