I dunno if me distinction sa TRV bet. Visitor & Biz, does it matter? Visitor ang indicated sa akin dahil tourism ang purpose ko.

Ah, specific pala ang Ca visa, malamang matatanong ka ng immigration officer sa POE when you're asked about the purpose.

^ When I applied, CoD yung courier when my documents were picked up, for "round-trip" (including return of documents) na yun fee. That's still a separate fee from what you'll pay to the Canadian Embassy for the visa application. When you call the call center to schedule your pickup, you'll be informed of how much it is.

So around 2 weeks pala yung waiting time.

My visa application was picked up by the courier last May 10th.

And I have to receive it by May 25 if not maiiwan ako sa trip.

Hope there will be no delays this time around.

It was too late when I discovered this thread. I applied for TRV together with my sis but both were denied. Our profiles and what we submitted:

    Me:

    early 30s, single
Singapore Permanent resident since 2008 (Living and working in SG since '07)
New job, only started last Feb 2012 (but bigger and global company naman)
Have about 5.5K++ SGD at the bank, showed my bank statement from Jan 2012
10K in my investment na parang time deposit
Letter of invi from my cousin who's getting married plus the invitation photocopy
Her citizen card, letter of employment, (she became citizen only in 2011)
Plus all the application forms required

Yung reason for refusal same ng standard plus nakadagdag yung immigration status ko, current employment status, ties in Canada and home country, financial assets ko.

I am reapplying next week with a cover letter and additional documents kase di ko pinakita yung CPF contribution ko (parang SSS) and I will not be able to get that money unless I leave SG for good and irenounce ko SG permanent residency status ko. Sinali ko na din title ng bahay sa Pinas and this time yung tita ko na mas matagal na sa Canada and pinapasend ko ng invitation. Pinadagdagan ko din ng details yung letter from my employer para sabihing babalik talaga ako. My employer is enrolling me on a 12-week once a week course din so investment nila sakin yun sakin.

I'm still thinking ano pa gawin ko just to show stronger ties in Singapore. I was confident maapprove kase PR ako, di pala ganun. Lalo na yung sa sister ko kase employment pass lang sya at 1 year pa lang nagwowork dito. Ang mahirap pa I already booked and paid for the tickets with my credit card kase nung nagaapply kami nung una sabi sa embassy dapat confirmed na daw tickets? Pinrint ko lang kase yun online (we went to embassy in March for a trip in June kala ko kase pwede ganun kaaga and we were advised to come back in May).

I dont think within a week/month you can convince the VO that so much has changed in your profile. You can try naman.

I got a call from the Canadian Embassy this morning. I am scheduled for interview this May 22 and was asked to bring our "relationship documents." I'm afraid that they might also eventually ask for a medical examination. Waah, that's too expensive already since I am just applying for a tourist visa.

guys, how did you fill up this information? i have no friends, relatives, or anybody to visit in canada. should i just put N/A?

Type the following information about the person(s) or institution(s), including schools you intend to visit during your stay in Canada:

Name (includes the name of a person or a name of an institution)
Relationship you have with them (friend, family, co-worker, etc.)
Their address in Canada (street number, street name, city or town and postal code).

So where do you intend to go/stay/visit? Where will you live? That's what you'll indicate.

vancouver and rockies. i have no hotel booking yet. do i just look for a hotel in downtown vancouver and put its information there? i "googled" it a while ago about my question and i found a suggestion to put N/A?

Remember when I wrote/implied about the possibility of an interview? I'm not surprised that you're about to be asked in person about your situation between you and your hubby, and I don't think this will be about the need for a medical exam.
Be honest about everything during your interview. I wish you well.Ü

Personally, 'N/A' is not responsive to the question asked by the form. If you answer such, are you telling them na sa kalye ka titira or winging it ka lang pagdating mo ng Canada?
The embassy will of course have to know what your purpose is for applying, and you must attach the relevant docs in relation to your reason for applying for a tourist visa.
So of course you are to tell them where you will stay during the duration of your tour. Natural lang na kailangan mong sabihin saang mga hotel o inn ka pupunta o nagpabook.

^^ Thanks so much, bonbon08. I am actually confident because my husband and I have been together (as a couple) since March 2003. We have a lot of cards/letters and pictures to prove that. We also had a 'big' wedding last January so I can bring the copy of the invitation card and our wedding pictures. But do you think that's sufficient already? I don't want to bring copies of emails, skype/ym logs because honestly, I didn't keep track of those.

My documents were picked up May 5 hanggang ngayon wala pa hmmmm....btw, you can't drop off a tourist visa application...the courier is the only method of submitting documents for TRV
