question po...
Hi my bf is canadian and would like me to visit him there. However, he is not valid to be a sponsor. I am currently unemployed but I have money in the bank for the show money. I have been to australia for holidays several times and the stamps on my passport will show that I strictly followed the No Overstaying condition of my australian visa and there is no way I am going to TNT over there. Can also prove that I have personal ties over here so I have to come back.
The question is, is it hard for me to be given a visa if i am not currently working even if my bf will send me a letter of invitation saying he will be shouldering all my expenses and the air fare?
TIA!![]()
Maybe some of you could weigh in:
I intend to enter the US this August or September and I might stay for three to five months. I intend to visit Canada towards the end of that period, probably during the Christmas season. I'm visiting a friend who wants to drive me to Vancouver from Seattle.
Someone here mentioned that for a single entry visa, usually they give one which is three-months valid starting on the issue date. If I apply for a visa now and this is the case, I might not be able to use it given that it would have expired by the time I finish all business in the US. And I've heard the Canadian embassy tends to be very strict with giving succeeding visas to those who have not used previous ones.
My intended Canadian visit is purely for leisure purposes and not business-related, so I cannot produce a formal document anchoring the date to December. [I intend to splurge whatever extra money I have leftover from my business trip.]
[In the recent past, I have never really had big problems applying for a visa since I've traveled to Europe, Japan, USA and around Asia more than once. Well, usually they were business-related so I did present invitations specifying a date. But on some of the succeeding applications or renewals, they were a bit more lax when it comes to requirements since I've already had previous entries at the respective countries.]
I have not had any recent experience with applying for a canadian tourist visa, but here is an idea. Look for a business related event that will happen in the time frame of your visit to Canada. Use that to peg the date of your intended visit to Canada. The event organizer may be able to give you supporting documentation, or you can just include information about the event in your application.
Your situation is similar to the other lady on this thread. She will probably have the most current experience that is similar to your situation.
I don't understand what you mean by bf being a sponsor. If you mean sponsor as someone who you will stay with during your visit, then anyone can be that. The tricky question is what your relationship is with the "sponsor".. Also what is proof of your ties to the Phils? You can show money in the bank but that can easily be borrowed.. Maybe showing what your source of income is can prove your ties... No harm in trying..
If you have a valid US VISA, then apply for a Canadian visa in pinas. You dont even have to appear. Courier na lang. Ganyan ginawa ng mga utol ko. After 2 weeks, natanggap na nila. I think it cost them 3T pesos. You can use the visa multiple times as long as your entry is from the US border. Tinanong lang ako ng CAN Immig kung how many days are we planning to stay in Toronto.Wala namang tinatak. Coming back, tinanong lang sa akin ng US of my relation sa mga pasahero ko. FYI, blue passport ako.
Ok here is my situation. I have 10 years multiple us vis and I'll be going to Vegas in October. Planning to visit my aunt who is Im Vancouver after my Vegas trip.
I would like to apply for a multiple entry tourist visa in Canada. Can somebody assist me on the step by step process?
Thank you so much!

The only difference during the application process, it seems, between a single-entry or multiple entry visa is the visa fee.
^ thank you for the links
additional question: for the muliple entry visa, how long is the validity of that? kasi my passport will expire on 2013. baka it makes more sense to apply for a single entry? diba once passport expires, the canadian visa is no longer valid.
^ kakakuha lang ng bro ko ng multiple entry visa.. 1 year lang daw ang validity.
Pero dati 2 years lagi ang binibigay nilang multiple entry visa
^ oh i see! naku bAka I'd rather go for single entry if the multiple is only valid for one year.
^ Haha, me too, I might just apply for a single-entry visa myself, instead of the CD$400 family "package".
I asked my co-worker who's applied for both single and multiple entry visas several times...yeah, she confirmed the procedure's the same; the only difference is the price. She was given a 2 year multiple entry visa on her most recent application.
>you can use the CAN visa multiple times basta galing ka sa border ng US. Pumasok kami sa Sarina/Michican border tapos lumabas kami the following day sa Buffalo. Bumalik kami ulet @ Buffalo the next day, balik na sa Sarina.
>you dont have to appear personally sa CAN/Phil embassy to get a visa basta meron ka na valid US visa.
>ang alam ko 3T+ pesos lang binayad ng mga utol ko
I'm just new here sa Pinoy Exchange Forum. I don't know if anyone here had recently applied in the Canadian Embassy for a tourist visa and the reply of the embassy took some time. Ako kse I applied first week of June. when I checked their website it says that the processing period takes 10-15 days. Until now I haven't heard anything from the Canadian Embassy. Its more than a month na. Talaga bang may delay this time sa processing period for tourist visa?
It happened to me before. The delay was because of an illegible faxed invitation, and I only knew about it when I followed up my application. I just faxed it again and got my visa the following day.
Baka may kulang o may problema sa dokumento na pinasa mo. Puwede naman silang tawagan para malaman mo ang kalagayan ng application mo.
