    Congrats, mimi_chibi!

Since I'm flying into Canada from the US East Coast, I'm taking Porter Airlines because they have good deals. Was able to get EWR-YTZ (Billy Bishop Airport in Toronto) for US$103 all-in.

Flying out of Canada, I'm taking American Airlines at YYZ into LAX to take my flight back to Manila via PAL.

So you would be landing in YTZ? Nice, that's the island airport just across downtown Toronto. You'll take a short ferry trip from the island to the mainland TO.

For a Canadian tourist visa, you could apply either single entry or multiple entry. There's a new policy that the Canadian embassy won't issue a tourist visa beyond the expiration of the passport. Since passports are valid only for five years, then the possible longest validity of Canadian tourist visa would be five years now-a-days.

what are the requirements needed to apply for a mulitiple visa?

i think it's just the same. mas mahal lang processing fee.

pero i think kailangan mo ipakita na mgpapabalik-balik ka dun for something aside sa work/study...

  8. #348
how much is the processing fee? do you have to indicate that you're applying for multiple entry visa or they will assess what kind of visa they will give you based on your submitted requirements?

Here are the info regarding aplication for a Canadian tourist visa (AKA Temporary Resident Visa):

    http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/apply-how.asp

Can $75 for a single entry visa
Can $150 for a multiple entry visa

There's an option for a single or a multiple entry visa in the application form of a TRV. You will be given an opportunity to choose.

First, what's your status in Singapore? Citizen? Permanent Resident?

    Immigration Cost Recovery Fees
The Department of Citizenship and immigration charges fees to partially recover the cost of providing certain services to the public. Since the processing fee helps defray the cost of processing your application it cannot be refunded even if your application is unsuccessful.

Fees must be paid by bank draft, certified cheque, postal money order, or manager’s cheque payable to the “Canadian Embassy, Manila”. Cheques can be issued by any local or international banks and post offices and should be valid for at least 6 months upon submission of your application. If bank drafts are issued from a bank in Canada in Canadian dollars, the "drawee" must be left blank. Fees can only be paid in Canadian Dollar and Philippine Peso currencies although it is advisable to pay in Canadian Dollars to avoid currency fluctuation. Cash payment is not accepted.

If the incorrect amount or an invalid payment method is used, your application will be returned to you without processing.

In my opinion, it won't be an issue. What's important is the validity of your visa. If asked why you didn't push through - Just say that there were priority / emergency stuffs that you would need to deal with at work or family stuff so you have decided just to move the flight. I haven't heard any issue so far regarding change of plan.

Walang problema.

    i see.. thanks!

anyway, ano ba yung mga docs na kailangan ko dala when i pass through immigration? (aside sa current passport hehe)

and clarify ko lang ulit, the expiration date on the visa is the last day that I can enter canada right? not the date that i should leave?

so example April 20 expiration, pwede ako pumasok on April 19 then uwi ako April 30?

Thumbs up received my TRV today!

Air 21 picked up my documents 10/19/2010 after lunch.
After 5 working days, Air 21 knocked at our door (10/27/2010) around 12 noon with a big brown envelope.

I immediately opened the envelope and unang-una kong nakita is my passport na naka open sa page where my Canadian Temporary Resident Visa is attached.

For the benefit of the others who are preparing their documents, below is the list of documents that I submitted:
    - completely filled-up application form (11 pages total) includes the temporary resident app form and supplementary information form.
    - 2 recent photos my name and birth date written on one pic only
    - current Machine Readable Passport
    - 3 old passports (w/ current unused US Visa issued 2008 in the passport that expired Aug 2009)
    - My Certificate of Employment stating current salary, position and tenure. (1 year palang ako sa current employer ko).
    - Print out of Email exchanges between me and my manager stating my approved vacation.
    - BPI bank statement of my Checking and savings account print out from BPIExpressOnline
    - BDO Peso Passbook including latest old/cancelled passbook
    - BDO USD Passboook
    - Metrobank USD Passbook
    - e-Ticket print out from my email of my booked and confirmed US Travel for Dec this year.
    - manager's check P3,225.00 drafted for Canadian Embassy Manila

    Support documents I attached:
    - Email print out of invitation letter from my friend stating that he is inviting me to visit him in Canada and that he will be my host while I am in Canada.
    - Email print out of my friend's email to HR requesting for a COE.
    - Print out of the email attachment from HR - a scanned copy of the Certificate of Employment stating my friend's position, salary, number of hours he works per week and tenure.
    - Print out of a photo of my friend's passport taken from a cellphone camera. (image is clear enough to see the Passport information) - this is the evidence of his Canadian Citizen ship
