Hi guys! Quick story lang. When I took up accountancy, I had no idea of the concepts. I didn't even know debit and credit and ALC. Struggle talaga. I remember going to class with unfinished assignments. Nagtataka nga ako how my classmates (no accounting backgrounds) whom I rarely see studying were able to answer all our assignments perfectly. Even our quizzes, parang minamani lang they finished it way ahead the allotted time. Until I found out... during the review... na meron ngang mga solutions for those books.

What I'm trying to say is.... wag lang kayong aasa sa solutions to pass the exams, quizzes, etc. You should always know the concepts behind the problems. Yes, it's a good preparation sa board exams kasi you're familiar with the stuffs you'll be seeing there kaya lang when you do the actual thing... I mean work it's a different call. Concepts lagi. BTW marami din sa classmates ko na binanggit ko didn't make it sa board exam. Some were able to pass it but have mediocre jobs.

I forgot to mention that I studied sa reputable Accounting School din naman. We always have placers and satisfactory passing rates.

Remember: Wala kang dinadaya kung hindi ang sarili mo.

Yup I agree with PYTELKIRK. Kailangan pa rin e-master ang concept. Walang silbi kung e-me-memorize mo lang kung paano sinagot sa solution manual. You should know the concept behind every solution, why is it solved that way, and how to arrive at the answer.

Pero meron din namang advantage ang pagkakaroon ng solution manual or prac book. Kasi ang laging advice ng mga teachers at students of higher accounting subjects, is to practice, practice, and practice. Halimbawa sa mga exercises na meron sa book. How would I know that my answer is right??? Eh hindi naman kami sumasagot ng exercises everyday during class. Dito papasok ang solution manual. Hindi ko rin naman pwede e-harass araw-araw ang teacher kung ano ang mga sagot sa books.

The key here is to use the solution manual wisely and efficiently. I should know kasi isa ako sa mga beneficiary, if you will, ng solution manual at prac books. I am on my sophomore year and a working student. Wala na akong time to attend tutorial class on weekends sa school, so I study ON MY OWN. Kaya advantage din ang may solution manual.

Nabasa ko rin sa isang blog na nag-complain na ang mga VALIX dahil nagkalat nga ang solution manual nila. I think they will file a case sa kung sino man ang mag-publish nito sa web. So good luck sa mga naghahanap ng solution manual. Sana maswerte kayo gaya ko na may nag-email ng solution manual.. Hehe..

Pahabol... For accounting students... Do not rely on one material din.. Marami kayong pwede ma-download na ebooks sa internet. Highly recommended ang Intermediate Accounting nila Keiso, Weydgant. Meron ding solution manual na pwede e-download for that book. Pwede rin e-download ang mga IAS and IFRS sa website nila.

Unbelievable ang internet.. Ang dami daming resources na makukuha, that is kung matiyaga lang kayo mag-search at MAGBASA.
