If you're going to base it stats wise, laki ng lamang ni Caguioa sa iba... Siya lang ang rookie na sa top 20 sa scoring. Look at pba.com.ph

well, i'm not for Ginebra but i can say that Mark Caguioa is really good--he plays a lot like a young Jeffrey Cariaso. So far he has the edge because his team made it to the semis and he has been scoring heavily lately. But for sentimental reasons, i'll go for John Arigo--this guy certainly has the potential but unlike Caguioa, he hasn't been given that much playing time--Tim Cone's system calls for him to be a reliever of rodney santos, although he has started out for the aces in some of their games...kaya lang, he only assumes the role of an offensive option when kenneth, rodney and ali are having troubles scoring. Given the same playing time that Caguioa enjoys at Ginebra, Arigo will definitely make waves. As for Hrabak--i heard he's good but i haven't seen him play-- Miller and the guys from Sta. Lucia naman cannot be considered as rookies anymore so i doubt if there will be anymore contenders aside fr mark, john and hrabak...

Since Alaska is out of the running, looks like John Arigo's ROY hopes are getting dimmer. So I think that whoever advancer to the Finals (Ginebra or Shell) will have a good shot at the award.

More than ever, Caguioa is the overwhelming favorite to win the Rookie of the Year. But again, what happens if, and this is a big if, Ginebra doesn't advance in the next two confernces while the other rookies on competing teams make it? This isn't to say that Ginebra won't advance, just a cautionary stance before guaranteeing a surefire win.

.......about doon sa topic......gaya nga ng sinabi ko dati......masyado pang maaga......pero kung bwebwenasin ang ginebra na makapasok sa finals ngayon eh malaki na yung chances ni caguioa para masungkit ang 2001 ROY Award.......pero para sa 2002 season eh hindi ko alam kase hindi ko naman kilala yung magiging mga rookies eh

i think it will be mark caguioa. sobra lakas ng loob ng player na ito. he's not afraid to take the big shots! kaya lang siyempre dapat maganda rin ang laro ng ginebra sa 2nd and 3rd conference para makasiguro na siya.
