another one of my most anticipated horror - "Pieces of Talent"
Set in the small coastal town of Bright Leaf, North Carolina, “Pieces of Talent” centers around Charlotte, a disillusioned aspiring actress working a night job as a cocktail waitress in order to make ends meet. Charlotte catches a break when seemingly chance circumstances put her in contact with a local filmmaker, David Long. David and Charlotte form a quick friendship that leads to Charlotte landing the starring role in David’s newest project. David quickly becomes obsessed with Charlotte and begins building his bloody masterpiece by killing members of the community. He films each encounter with the ultimate goal of filming Charlotte as his final installment. David is a happily obsessed individual willing to do whatever it takes to make “true art”. He utilizes his charm and skills to make something dark and deranged seem utterly beautiful and loving.
Check out this new international poster for the upcoming horror-sequel SILENT HILL: REVELATION 3D. Written and directed by Michael J. Bassett, the film stars Adelaide Clemens, Sean Bean, Kit Harington, Carrie-Anne Moss, Malcolm McDowell, Radha Mitchell, Deborah Kara Unger and Martin Donovan. Open Road Films and Lionsgate will collaborate on distribution with the film set for release on October 26.
Synopsis: For years, Heather Mason (Adelaide Clemens) and her father (Sean Bean) have been on the run, always one step ahead of dangerous forces that she doesn’t fully understand. Now on the eve of her 18th birthday, plagued by terrifying nightmares and the disappearance of her father, Heather discovers she’s not who she thinks she is. The revelation leads her deeper into a demonic world that threatens to trap her in Silent Hill forever.
The first official poster for MGM and Screen Gems' highly anticipated horror remake CARRIE has made its way online. With director Kimberly Peirce at the helm, she'll work from a re-imagined script by Robert Aguirre-Sacasa which is said to be a straight adaptation of the Stephen King novel rather than a straight remake of the 1976 Brian De Palma-directed horror pic. The film stars Chloë Grace Moretz, Julianne Moore, Judy Greer, Alex Russell, Ansel Elgort, Portia Doubleday and Gabriella Wilde. CARRIE is set for release on March 15, 2013.
Synopsis: The quiet suburb of Chamberlain, Maine is home to the deeply religious and conservative Margaret White (Moore) and her daughter Carrie (Moretz). Carrie is a sweet but meek outcast whom Margaret has sheltered from society. Gym teacher Miss Desjardin (Greer) tries in vain to protect Carrie from local mean girls led by the popular and haughty Chris Hargenson (Doubleday), but only Chris' best friend, Sue Snell (Wilde), regrets their actions. In an effort to make amends, Sue asks her boyfriend, high school heartthrob Tommy Ross (Elgort), to take Carrie to prom. Pushed to the limit by her peers at the dance, Carrie unleashes telekinetic havoc. - ComingSoon.net
Not that you can tell but this is the first official image from Screen Gems' upcoming remake of EVIL DEAD. Fede Alvarez directed the horror pic from a script he co-wrote with Rodo Sayagues. Starring Jane Levy, Shiloh Fernandez, Lou Taylor Pucci, Jessica Lucas and Elizabeth Blackmore, EVIL DEAD, which has the blessing of both Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell hits theaters April 12, 2013.
Synopsis: In the much anticipated remake of the 1981 cult-hit horror film, five twenty-something friends become holed up in a remote cabin. When they discover a Book of the Dead, they unwittingly summon up dormant demons living in the nearby woods, which possess the youngsters in succession until only one is left intact to fight for survival. - ComingSoon.net
Penge naman link kung saan nyo napanood ang SINISTER. PLEASE.
The Reel Scoop
Horror Movie Scoop: Back in August, we reported that a sequel to the 2010 remake of the 1978 revenge flick I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE was in the works with CineTel Films tapping Thomas Fenton (SAW IV, CHAIN LETTER) to pen the script for the film. Now it looks like Steven R. Monroe, who directed the remake will be back to tackle the sequel also. While Sarah Butler did a great job as the female lead in the first one, part 2 is looking to go in a different direction -- well sort of.
I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE 2 focuses on new female lead Holly (who is still uncast), a Missouri farm girl who moves to New York in hopes of perusing a modeling career. Looking to update her profile for the big city, she meets three brothers who rape and torture her. They supposedly flee to another country where they bury her alive. She survives, like in the first, and exacts her violent revenge. Shooting is scheduled to begin this November in Sofia, Bulgaria.
You can now add Stephen King's THE BREATHING METHOD to the list of titles from the author that Hollywood will be bringing to the big screen as Jason Blum’s Blumhouse Pictures has tapped SINISTER director and co-writer Scott Derrickson to do the heavy lifting. The novella is part of the 1982 King collection DIFFERENT SEASONS and was the only story in the volume that hasn't yet been adapted. Scott Teems will handle screenwriting duties while Blumhouse secures financing.
THE BREATHING METHOD focuses on an elderly physician named Dr. Emlyn McCarron who recounts an incident in his career of a patient who was determined to give birth to her illegitimate child, despite her financial difficulties and the social stigma in the 1930s. The patient turns to the doctor because of the book he has written about the Breathing Method, a system to help women through childbirth. She grows close with the doctor, who finds that she is so determined to have the child through the method that she lingers on even after a horrific accident on the way to the hospital.
SINISTER, which Blumhouse produced on a budget of $3M came in at No. 3 this weekend at the box office, grossing $18M. PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 4, which is due out Friday is a lock for first place and will again be a huge hit for the production banner. Derrickson, who I had a chance to meet at my screening of SINISTER also directed the low-budget horror flick THE EXORCISM OF EMILY ROSE so I'm excited to see what he'll be able to do with THE BREATHING METHOD. - Deadline Hollywood
