As per CHED Center of Excellence: Ateneo and UST.

ATENEO DE MANILA UNIVERSITY
Rooted in the tradition of excellence and service of the Ateneo de Manila University, the Philosophy Department, as a community of teachers, scholars, and students, commits itself to critical and creative reflection, research, and formation, in dialogue with other disciplines and in solidarity with the marginalized sectors of the local and the global society.
This is fulfilled through four broad areas of experience:
- Metaphysics, Ancient and Medieval Philosophy
- Epistemology, Modern and Contemporary Philosophy
- Ethics, Social and Political Philosophy,
- Culture, Science and Religion
The Department of Philosophy continues to pioneer the teaching, writing and publishing of texts in Filipino.
The Department of Philosophy is a CHED Center of Excellence for Philosophy.
-----
Philosophy subjects are at the core of the Ateneo education since it received government approval to offer a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1865. This is evident even today, when every Atenean is required to take twelve academic units of philosophy. Jose Rizal (AB 1877), the country's national hero, was among the many students who went through the University's rigorous philosophical formation.
Today, the philosophical associations in the Asia-Pacific region have recognized the leadership of the Department's senior faculty members as they hold key positions in the Asian Association of Catholic Philosophers and the Asia-Pacific Philosophy Education Network for Democracy of UNESCO. They also serve on the editorial boards of Humanitas Asiatica, Budhi, Philosophy, Culture, and Traditions, and the Research in Values and Philosophy.
Presidencies of national philosophical associations are being served continuously by members of the Department through the Philosophical Association of the Philippines and the Philosophy Circle of the Philippines. The Department's faculty extends its expertise by delivering lectures to regional associations such as the Philosophical Association of the Visayas and Mindanao and other schools and universities in various parts of the country.
From these leadership positions, the Department hosts international and national conferences. It recently hosted 33 delegates from nine countries in Asia for the Conference on Teaching Philosophy in Asian Contexts, in coordination with MISSIO-Aachen and the ACHIE-Hongkong.
Eminent professors, such as Richard Rorty, W. Norris Clarke, Quentin Lauer, James Bernauer, and Vanden Brooke, have delivered lectures to different audiences in the Philippines under the Department's sponsorship. Regular lecturers from different countries, such as Georges de Schrijver of the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Nicole Revel of the Centre for Research in Paris, and Peter Murphy of Monash University in Australia, participate in annual team teaching courses offered by various members of the department.
The Department has a distinctive contribution to the development of philosophy in the Philippines by being the pioneer in the teaching of philosophy in Filipino language. Half of its core courses in the undergraduate curriculum are in Filipino. It has produced one dozen philosophy textbooks in Filipino, aside from the unpublished translations of philosophical texts that are currently at its disposal for classroom use.
Contemporary philosophical traditions, such as Critical Theory, Postmodernism, Deconstruction, Neo-Thomism, as well as the main figures in contemporary philosophy, namely Husserl, Heidegger, Habermas, Arendt, Foucault, Gadamer, Derrida, Ricouer, Levinas, Apel, and Rawls are well represented in the expertise of the Department's faculty. The classical traditions nevertheless remain to be the interest of its young faculty members and sustained by its founding members.
The Department offers at the undergraduate level a major and minor in philosophy. It also offers graduate programs leading to the Master of Arts degree (with thesis and non-thesis options) and the Doctor of Philosophy in Philosophy.
In order to extend its expertise to those that could not attend regular graduate courses, the Department has devised a special Master of Arts in Teaching Philosophy. Its most important requirement for admission is a teaching position in any college or university. To date, forty college professors annually enroll in this program every summer.
As a Center of Excellence in Philosophy in the Philippines, as recognized by the Commission on Higher Education, the Department of Philosophy tries to extend the variety and depth of its philosophical resources to a wide range within the Philippine educational system.

Faculty of Philosophy
Nature and Objectives
The Faculty of Philosophy intends, through proper organization of its courses, to help the students acquire a gradual solid and consistent knowledge of man, of the world and of God based on a philosophical heritage which is perennially valid. It also aims to make the students conversant with the history of ideas as well as to engage them in honest and sincere examination of the solutions given to the problem of the world and of life through the centuries, to enable them to arrive at a proper conviction and a coherent vision of reality. This philosophical training will give the students a solid base for the study of theology, and to prepare them for their future life and ministry, thus, enabling them to enter into dialogue with men of their own time.

Anyone care to verify if the Philosophy Department is the largest in the Loyola Schools? I would not be surprised if it was.
Are you sure about your Ateneo faculty list? Seems really large. I'm an alumnus from class '81, and I don't recall the Philosophy faculty to comprise more than ten professors,. Also, some of the names in your list were already teaching then...Fr Ferriols (is he still alive?) and Eduardo Calasanz. Just wondering if that's an updated list.
KD: Marami sa list na yan, part-time faculty yata o kaya on leave.
Pero malalaki din yata yung faculty sizes ng ibang department kagaya ng nasa Filipino at English departments nila. Malaki rin yata yung math, at siyempre yung sa school of management.
Facts please not yata

The Thomasian Philosophers: Benchmarking Excellence for Academic Philosophy in the Philippines
Philosophy was one of the earliest academic programs being offered since the University was founded in 1611. Bachelor, Licentiate and Doctorate degrees in Philosophy, by that time, were given only to those who are entering for priesthood, through the Faculty of Philosophy. The study was finally opened to the laity, through the establishment of the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters on 1896, 285 years after the Universitys foundation.
Presently, the Royal, Pontifical and Catholic University of Santo Tomas offers different degrees in Philosophy through three Faculties: Bachelor (Ph.B.), Licentiate (Ph.L.) and Doctorate (Ph.D.) degrees for young men who are pursuing ecclesiastical career in the Faculty of Philosophy, which is part of the Universitys Faculties of Ecclesiastical Studies (with Sacred Theology and Canon Law); Bachelor of Arts (A.B.) major in Philosophy in the Faculty of Arts and Letters; and postgraduate degrees: Master of Arts (M.A.) and Doctorate (Ph.D.) at the Graduate School. All of these Faculties give well-rounded academic formation through the Thomasian philosophy curricula that deal with the field both systematically and historically. Branches of philosophy (epistemology, metaphysics, cosmology, aesthetics, logic, ethics, theodicy) are primarily taught under the Aristotelian-Thomistic inspiration. Focus is also given in the teaching of different philosophies in the East and West, and of different ages: from the Classical, Medieval, Modern up to the Postmodern period.
All of these Faculties are Centers of Excellence in Philosophy, as declared by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).

How about UP Diliman's Department of Philosophy? The dean of the College of Social Sciences and Philosophy (CSSP) is from the Philo Dept. Dapat magaling ang Philo hehe..
I only had one Philo subject in college, Philo 1 under Lalaine Siruno. She was I believe 21 that time (I was 19 hahaha) and pretended she was a student on our first day. I googled her name and it appears she is now with University of Oslo...

KRITIKE
An Online Journal of Philosophy
KRITIKE is a Filipino independent, open access, peer-reviewed, and interdisciplinary journal of philosophy founded by a group of University of Santo Tomas alumni. The journal seeks to publish articles and book reviews by local and international authors across the whole range of philosophical topics, but with special emphasis on Continental Philosophy, Analytic Philosophy, and East-West Comparative Philosophy. The journal primarily caters to works by academic philosophers and graduate students, but contributions by undergraduate students are also welcomed.
With the view that there is a continuing increase in the use of the internet as medium of research by scholars and students of philosophy, KRITIKE is made available online and is free to anyone who wishes to use it. Articles are downloadable individually as PDF files and old issues are archived for future retrieval. The journal is listed in the Philippine Journals Online website managed by the International Network for the Availability of Scientific Publications. KRITIKE is indexed in the Directory of Open Access Journals, Asia Journals Online, and the Open Science Directory of EBSCO Information Services.
The word kritike is Greek from the verb krinein, which means to discern. Hence, kritike means the art of discerning or the art of critical analysis. Every form of philosophizing (Continental, Analytic, or Eastern) is, in one way or another, a "critique" of something. Being critical, therefore, is an attitude common to all philosophical traditions. Indeed, the meaning of philosophy is critique and to be philosophical is to be critical.
KRITIKE is a biannual journal published in June and December of each year.
