Here are some complaints I read on other forums
-I read there's problem with the new electronic drive (which replaced the drive by wire) system which causes a delay on the gas pedal response.
-Since the new vios model is bigger and heavier than the previous generation, a drop on fuel economy can be expected.
Why not consider the new honda city.![]()
why not go to altis E manual. same price lang sila, and it is compact car, much better than sub compact...i think
for me the old vios looks is much better than the new vios ...
FC seems okay AFAIK. There are some recurring complaints on the Vios with regard to some static with the radio when the headlights are on (or something like that). My in-laws have a 1.3 E model and the main problem so far was this recurring kalampag from the rear which the casa can't seem to locate; other then that its so far so good (2 years and 30,000kms down the road). One concern i see is that they have placed the ECU in the engine bay (its on the fireall) which makes it more exposed to heat, humidity, moisture and floods.
Only thing though is that at the price of the 1.5G, there are other options as mentioned.
On my gf's Vios, there's an air leak on the driver's side window. Defective rubber seal. Aside from that its a well engineered economy car.
1. At least 2 vios i know complained of ignition failure from the useless "anti-theft" clutch no matter how hard the ladies stepped on the clutch pedal.
2. Horn sounds like Speedy Gonzales, must replace.
3. Bumper covers, particularly the front easily detaches in collision.
4. IMO Overall design is feminine; front design quickly becomes outdated.
5. Less than one year, leaked rain water through0 front windshield seal.
The horn man, the horn. It goes BEEP BEEP BEEP (Sounds like The Roadrunner BEEP BEEP) hehehe, I got used to it after two weeks though. Problem is when overtaking, since when I BEEP BEEP the car I intend to overtake, the driver may think that I am a motor bike. Other than that, car's just fine. Two weeks ago when i brought the car home, I waited for about ten minutes sa labas ng gate dahil my wife thought it was a tricycle daw. Yep, Ill replace it next week maybe.
Not really a complaint but an observation...
Bakit karamihan ng mg Vios na taxi na nakakasalubong ko 8 out of 10 sa kanila naka pop up ang hood?
para daw pumasok yung hangin sa makina . Wala daw classic engine temp gauge yung vios eh. Idiot light lang ang meron.. Iilaw lang pag nag overheat na
Sa mga private cars na Vios di naman naka pop ang hood... sa taxi kase whole day tumatakbo
There's a long debate on the other forums about this popped hood thing. When the taxi drivers were asked, its one of those "sabi-sabi" ("narinig ko sa ibang driver") to prevent overheating as the taxi running around all day gets too hot daw especially with the LPG system.
I personally think its partly due to lack of maintenance though as the cooling system of the car is really a closed system and the only part affected by the outside heat is the radiator which is upfront. Most of these taxis do run around all day but they dont follow the proper maintenance schedules nor use the proper coolant on their engines most of the time it seems.
more probably with overheating ang reason nito since madalas nakabilad sa araw ang mga TAXI at palaging nasa traffic habang nakabilad.
Isn't it dangerous to leave the hood open like that? Even if it has secondary lock. I think that's not pinoy ingenuity but stupidity.
^yup, nasa manual din ang precaution na yun dahil pwedeng bumukas ang hood at tumama sa windshield.
city driving 40-50kph medyo ko pa.
Try nila sa highway yung bukas na hood.![]()
The latch may hold on the highway however in the event of an accident it wont as this is already supposed to be the secondary/safety to the hood lock which we release from inside.
Maybe the added airflow from the opened hood adds 10hp to the motor.![]()
