Let's keep our fingers crossed and of course, let's keep on praying.

pasensya na for a no brainer quesion

Hi, I will share with you the explanation of my immigration lawyer with regards to the processing of EB3 visas....

In order for someone to get an immigrant visa, a visa number must be available to those with the same Priority Date. This is referred to as the Priority Date being “current”. The Priority Date is current if there is no backlog in the category or if your Priority Date is before the date listed as current in the monthly Visa Bulletin.

    Medyo nakakahilo ba ?

    Ganito yan.

EB3 is current (C) kapag may available na visa to all applicants regardless of priority dates. Ibig sabihin lang nito, kung August 3 ngayon, at ang priority date mo ay August 3, eh di available na visa for you. Much more kung earlier sa date na yan ang priority date mo.

EB3 is unavailable kung ang lahat ng visa for the year eh nagamit na. And mag-oopen lang sa start ng another fiscal year.

EB3 is retrogressed kung yung dates na prinoprocess eh backwards ang trend...ato na yung makikita sa visa bulletin na ang Priority dates eh, example, June 2, 2005, but today is August 3, 2009.

    here's a good article/FAQ about retrogression:

Let's count our blessings

Let’s thank God for that.

Let's get real, malabo yun. That's better than nothing at all.

O kaya yung documentarily qualified na ( have paid for the visa bill, have submitted the DS-230 forms etc. )

The October Visa Bulletin is out! Bad news indeed. EB3 PHILIPPINES - JUNE 1, 2002. That was totally unexpected. The dream of going to the USA is becoming dim. Unless the immigration policy of the US changes. How heartbreaking

Instead of being depressed about the bad news, I will continue to believe in JEREMIAH 29:11

    Hi!

I also have a pending immigrant petition under EB3. And like most everyone here, sumasakit din dibdib ko pag naiisip lintik na retrogression na yan.

My PD is June 2007 and my I-140 was approved by USCIS last April 2009. And then I received a letter from NVC about (5) five months ago. That was May of this year ata. It was to tell me that visa numbers are presently not available for my use and warned me not to make any firm plans, such as disposing of property, blah blah blah.

As I understand it you are officially affected by retrogression once you have an approved I-140.
So mga ka-tropa, fellow members of US Retrogression Club, I ask is there hope for us all? This is a very sad situation for us nurses here in the phils. With the long wait, the money spent, and the grueling time set aside for examinations... Hay... makes me think of pursuing my dreams elsewhere. Canada, Australia, New Zealand, UK, or the Middle East perhaps???

The PD date for the month of October has retrogressed to June 1, 2002. I say this is an improvement (somewhat) to last few month's status of simply "U" or unavailable. But still, nakakalungkot pa rin. Our dream of becoming a nurse in the US is still very dim. Im starting to lose hope. Di ko nalang masyado iniisip kasi nakakadepress. Im looking at other options. Other countries to practice nursing and advance my career while waiting for retro to be lifted.
Kayo ano plans nyo? Id be glad to hear what are in your minds regarding this.

Hi, I share your sentiments. I do not know what the future holds for us. But I still try to be positive and I always tell myself that just as long as my employer is not backing out and has not revoked my petition, I will be fine. You can try to tell that to yourself as well. It works

Your PD is earlier than mine, that's a blessing. Have you heard of the Nursing Emergency Relief Act? People say that it gives us hope. Anyway, as the old cliche goes: Hope springs eternal. And of course, we have to trust the good Lord because he loves us all.

I have other plans but I do not know where to start yet. Let's just stay positive
