Flute? Trumpet? Clarinet? Sax? Say what?

I am thinking of starting new music hobby and my eyes are on the wind instruments on the shelf of a music store.

I thought I have decided on the mini-trumpet but when I saw the clarinet, I thought that this one is not bad either. Then next to it is the flute. And then there's saxophone. Now I'm confused.

In terms of portability and ease in learning, which one should I choose? Anybody experienced here who can share a thought?

i've experienced being in a band before. i played the trombone..that's coz my music teacher said it was the best for me. it has to depend on your fingers' abilities to "multi task" and your breathing too. i remember my sax and flute friends having to practice their pinkies once in a whle for certain notes. *** clarinet naman, oboe, etc those have wooden mouth pieces, parang hirap akong mag-blow through them.

Hindi uubra download at how-to books.

First, you have to learn to read notes.

Clarinet, Sax.. meron yang caņa or reed.

Aside from fingering, bocadura uli.

Good thing about brasses, kahit saan pwede ka sumali, (classical, jazz, ska, reggae)

Look for your local marching band.

    ^ Thanks for your thoughts.

Well, hobby is supposed to be at leisure. That is why I want to learn and play the instrument as a hobby. I am neither planning of joining a band nor thinking of becoming a pro.

I think you're underestimating my potential (nyahahaha, para namang meron ).

Anyway, I am doing this just for fun.

I do understand. However, I would still advise that you seek help from someone who does know how to play. That way you will learn to do all things properly. From reading music, proper blowing, correct fingering plus you will have someone to evaluate you and tell you how much you have improved, how good or bad your tone is and where you stack.

It's also a lot more fun if you have someone to play with.

So, have chosen an instrument yet?

I am torn between these two mini-trumpets:

I think this black one is cool.

Those are called cornets. Ganyan nga cornets ngayon, colorful.

Yeah, I like that black one too. Cool sa gig yan. Anong brand yan?

I wish you luck. Enjoy learning and playing. Updates lang sa studies mo. Hehe.

It's J.Michael and it costs almost 10k at the nearby store.

Saxophone is a good choice, brass instruments are really good sounding but sax is my favorite. I wish though that there will be more sax players

I bought the black cornet yesterday.

    ^^

Told you. Hindi basta pag-ihip sa instruments. I'm not a trumpet player ha. Pero napapatunog ko.. hehe.

I hope I can describe it well ng written lang.

Magkadikit dapat lips mo.. think of making a straight line.. pero loose at relax lang.

Then, patong mo yung mouthpiece.. light at relaxed lang uli..

Dapat "tu", use your tounge.. dapat from your upper front teeth galing, then "tu"
