    when you retire..

where do you really want to live & why? let's take into account that you have the means to live decently anywhere..

it could be where you live right now, or a certain area in the country where you live, or another country you have visited, or some place you read in a book..

and what is the most important consideration that will nail down your decision?

    i'll start..

i think i will not stay & live in one place as long as i can walk & am relatively healthy.. maybe a year in a cottage overlooking the ocean or any body of water with only the bare necessities & many books & a typewriter with only the sounds of nature.. another year in a quaint village in a European country where they milk cows & have a backyard of fresh vegetables where there is a telephone, a TV, & internet connection.. then when its winter where i live i'll go travel to a warmer place but not too hot for 6 months, to be with the crowds & enjoy the sounds made by humans & see their eyes lighten up on their new purchases.. i will stay with a good friend for 6 months or travel & enjoy her/his company.. wherever my feet, my heart, my mind will take me -- there i will be until i can't.

then when it is time, i will gladly go softly into the night knowing i had the time of my life in the way i wanted it to be...

I wanna go back to the philippines and stay near the beach when I retire.

i agree that it would make things easier & for the senior playboys kailangan yan

pero for those who just want to live simply in a unexpensive village by the sea somewhere lolz, i guess all one needs is some money to get by, your sanity, your health, & maybe an international health plan if you get sick..

    retirement place: Dumaguete, Negros Oriental

I've been to many places in the Phils. esp. in the vismin areas...... halos napuntahan ko na lahat ng lugar sa vismin at masasabi ko at napag-usapan na namin ito ng wife ko, when I retire, sa Dumaguete ko gusto tumira..........
    -simple living
    -malalapit mga beach
    -mababait mga tao

    tubong-maynila po ako.......
