    Hi hotrod1528,

OO nakakalungkot nga talaga =( Actually I did make a follow up thru email. I think last year and early this year. Unfortunately, nag bounced yung email ko. Error daw at no such email ID exist na. I'm not that sure if I can follow up thru landline kasi.

So right now pasa lang ulit ako ng pasa dun sa ARC.

Pero naniniwala naman ako na if will ni Lord na dun ka mag work eh ibibigay nya. As long as you ask for it and you also have to do your part =)...God bless sa atin =)

Malamang umalis or nagretire yung nag handle ng recruitment mo para mag bounce yung email.

Call ADB at 6324444. Try mo pa connect sa recruitment, you never know.

And Yes just keep applying. At least on your file na yung pumasa ka ng exam.

i took the exams twice na.. and passed both times. first time was in 2010 pa. i went thru a lot of interviews after that pero walang feedback, even when i tried emailing yung taga-HR. kinalimutan ko muna ang ADB for some time since okay naman work ko. i then decided to reapply sa ARC two months back. was invited to take the exam again this month. okay naman (medyo madali na kasi i already knew what to expect). ngayon, waiting na lang for the interviews and keeping my fingers crossed..

Hi all, especially to Ice Burn and current/ex ADB employees and consultants,

Pwede pa rin po ba mag-apply as Individual Consultant even if I'm currently employed with another international organization? Or mas gusto ba ng ADB na freelancer talaga ang consultants nila, as in yung mga walang company affiliation ?

    TIA!

Well consultants can be full time or part time depending on the project. I know some consultants who only report to adb once a week, meron din who only report to submit deliverables. Depende yan sa contract. In your case you also have to check if your current IO will allow you to do part time work with adb.

Also some consultants are affiliated with companies. They are subcontracted by adb through their company. They work for adb but they are technically employed by a different company.

My friend naman is also affiliated with a company where he works exclusively from home but he does part time consulting work for adb from time to time.

And of course, there's the consultants employed by adb full time who are not affiliated with any company.

    Hi juniem,

were you able to call adb to make a follow up?

Hey guys. This is my second post. I had applied to two positions at ADB. My first application had changed to "Under Referral", it's been like that for over a month now. Like Ice Burn mentioned, not to expect anything. (Honestly, the process has started to drive me crazy because it's too long. , can't help it, but I would always check the status everyday). My husband was very excited when he learned about it and I feel very bad because he wanted me to have the job so bad.

Anyway, this other position I had applied for (HR Specialist, International Staff) and I am not sure what's going on. I would think that they would review my application sooner since the position is within their department, I know this is not always the case. You know?? when you first submit your application, it automatically changes to "For Evaluation"? Well, a week after the announcement has closed, there was a new update on my status. On the main page of my ADB application account, the 7th column (Status) shows blank. It went from "For Evaluation" to a blank box. Then I went to click the "Application Details" icon that shows the status history of my application, it showed 2 updates. The first was "For Evaluation" on the day I had applied, and the second update had not changed at all but there's a new date on it.

My question is, why would they do something like that when they won't change my status at all other than "For Evaluation"? Do you think they are not done reviewing my application yet? Or they meant to change to "Under Referral" or "Regret" but accidentally chose "For Evaluation". My worry is that if they think I am qualified and they meant to consider me for further review, but they inaccurately updated my status, I may not be included in a pool of shortlisted applicants because they rely on their database/system.

I emailed this: arc-help@adb.org to see if they can help. They responded saying something, "to further assist you with your inquiry, let us know what internet browser you are using and send a detail description of the error message". I don't think it has something to do with the internet browser I am using and I also thought that I explained the issue very well. I had hoped that they would make an attempt to resolve it first and ask the HR office to see what's up with my application. Has this happened to you? Sorry for this long post. Thanks in advance.

Once again, don't expect until they personally contact you. It will make your life easier. And don't rely on the status update. The recruitment people are so overwhelmed with a lot of applications so it's easy to overlook updating an applicant's status. Some of the people I know who used to work for recruitment say that they used to process thousands of applicants per job just for the longlist.

Thanks to you, Ice Burn and everyone else who keep reminding us not to expect too much. I'm sorry if it looked like I am being impatient. After venting here, it made me feel better. I just wanted to share my experience. I should know this because I work in that field. I work for the government and the hiring process is much quicker, some agencies are slow but not as long as ADB's recruitment process.

A few hours later from my last post, my status finally changed to "Under Referral" so I am happy to see that. But then again, there's nothing to be really excited about unless I get contacted for interview. Sorry for whining earlier.

    Hi hotrod,

Yes i did. The recruitment personnel informed me to check the status every now and then. I told her that i always do that even back in 2010. Before, when I passed the exam my status is for evaluation. After the preliminary interview, still for evaluation. I'm not that quite sure if the status is accurate or they just don't update it on a regular basis. I even mention the name of the personnel who contacted me but I guess she doesn't know her because i can sense the big question mark in her =) but in all fairness she lets me finish my story.

Nanghihinayang kasi talaga ako. I hold on to what the recruitment manager told me back in 2010: they will submit my application to the deparment/s that I might be assigned to.

Pinagdadasal ko na lang kay God. I want it so badly but God is in control...

Hay. Looks like we really shouldn't be expecting too much. Apply muna ko sa iba. Akala ko kasi just like what my friends in adb say
basta maipasa mo lang *** exams, tuloy tuloy na yan.after hearing ur experience, i was disheartened. Pwede palang matabunan *** application, even if u've gone through the interview already.

    Hi Iceburn,

quick question, if min. req. of 3-5 years is for entry level which is as4/as3, pano yung as1 and 2?

    Hi hotrod1528,

Don't lose hope. Experience ko lang naman yun. Yours might be different =) I agree that we shouldn't be expecting too much but there's no wrong in hoping and aiming =) Yung nangyari sa akin sa ADB didn't stop me from hoping but di lang naman sa ADB iikot ang mundo ko, I know that God has a plan. Now, I might not understand why it has to happen but I know in the end God will unveil His plan.

If will ni Lord na makapasok ka sa ADB, kahit matabunan ng ilang applications yung application mo si Lord ang gagawa ng way para mapunta yung sayo sa ibabaw =)

    God bless hotrod...

AS1 and AS2 are normally for jobs like driver, messenger, gardener, maintenance, reception etc. But I don't know if they still advertise staff positions for those because most of those positions are now subcontracted to other companies.

    Just a quick question -

RE: NS1-NS3 level positions - anyone know how 'common' these are? Are these pay grades assigned to 'rank-and-file' positions, or are they mostly upper-level positions?

    Many thanks.

  20. #940
    Hi Ice Burn,

4 ang status. For Evaluation, Under Referral, Shorlist and Regret. Kapag napili ka for interview, dapat Shortlist ang status? Kasi yung iba sa akin, months na ang For Evaluation.Tapos isa ko, matagal nang referral. naguguluhan na ako.

    Thanks Ice Burn for help
