HI All, Ice Burn, I had this pre-offer last week of March pa. Is it still active because am still pondering whether to take it or not since the salary is not that high or my expected salary. My current position/salary is better than what adb is offering. Is it negotiable? and how many % increase if in case? Then what is the average yearly salary increase in adb assuming you meet their performance expectations. Is it really non-tax free? pls guide. thank you

Talk to your HR contact person. Besides it's professional to ask them to give you some time to think about the position. If you did not reply to them, they may assume you are not interested in the position.

You can negotiate salary, provided it is within range of the salary grade. I myself negotiated and % of increase depends on what the department can give you. Yearly increase depends on your performance review, it varies. As for Tax free, as a Philippine citizen you are responsible for paying your appropriate taxes.

    Hi Etneciv.

Hi Etneciv. Is the pre job offer done in email? or They will call you if you are hired?

Thanks Ice, I tried to negotiate within their salary range at least the midline but to no avail, only approximately 2% increased from the pre-offer. Am still pondering the offer. Are they monitoring your tax payment/remittance? Thanks.

Nagapply ako dito pero regret. Better luck next time para sa akin.

^i applied for 5 positions here. 2 turned to "regret", the other 3 are still "for evaluation". and that's more than 1 year already when i submitted it. i still visit the site once in a while, i'm actually not hoping anymore. yung ganun katagal baka natabunan na yung application ko.

  7. #867
be patient guys. even you received a regret status for the position you applied, hr may match your profile to other positions that might be not posted in arc.

    Hi guys.

To the people who are now currently working in ADB, any tips for the interview? What are the usual questions asked by the interviewer?

  10. #870
dark_half, just like a typical job interview, more of your experience.

Sir/Maam nag da direct hire po ba ADB sa Java Dev? or subcontractor lang lage? salamat po :-)

This may be a dumb question, but is proficiency in the English language very important in ADB? For instance, written communication is not that problematic but conversational English is very bad, will that hurt my application?

ADB does not hire fresh grads for its staff positions. The only way fresh grads can work for ADB is if they are hired under a different company and assigned to ADB as consultants or contractors.

Sometimes they post openings but most of the programming jobs are held by consultants or contractors.

Keep in mind that you will be interacting with a lot of different nationalities in an institution where the primary means of communication is English. For assistant positions, the majority of them report directly to a foreign national. So if your English skills is poor, how do you expect to properly communicate with your would-be boss especially if your boss is not Filipino?

Hi, I am new here. I just submitted my job application for a Unit Head, Travel position listed under International Vacancies from the ADB website. The job closes out May 15th, I believe. I need some advice.

I learned about ADB when I was doing my research online for my college paper a few years ago and I came across their website. Got curious with their current vacancies at that time and I had found out that they also hire international applicants. That was exciting to know. I miss the Philippines and the only way I can do to go back to PI is to work for one of these companies that can offer a decent money.

A little background about me. I am a US citizen but born and raised in the Philippines. I have 9 years active duty military experience with the US Air Force. I'm still with the AF part time (just a weekend a month drill). I have a full-time job with the US Department of Energy.
I have been with DOE since 2010. I only have a Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Mgt. I also have an Associates degree in Personnel Administration and a vocational training in IT. All of these were completed in the US. I don't have my master's yet.
I have extensive experience in travel management working in the HR field in the military as a lot of soldiers have to travel for deployment, changing station, etc.

So what do you guys think are my chances for getting interviewed by ADB? Do I have to wait until I get my master's? I am 32 years old female.

    Thanks!
    CinnamonicRoll

Is it possible for individual consultants to be absorbed as a staff of ADB after their assignment? Also, can someone please assess the compensation/benefits of an individual consultant? Thanks
