    Lea Salonga FTW
Really love the quality of her voice. I don't care about the pitch of the song or range of her voice! :P

    Humility? REGINE of course

  6. #126
But I like Lea's remark on Anne Curtis

  7. #127
I also like Regine with her tagalog songs really heartfelt and the one concert I saw on TV with the National Museum was great. (I was in awe.)

I prefer Lea when I am in a mood to listen to some smooth broadway music. It is a matter of personal taste for music. There is no good or best. Based on my experience, very few Filipinos are familiar with Broadway music since it is viewed as an elitist form of entertainment. (In terms of venue requirements and concert promotions in the Philippines.)

ayyy ang ironic naman, this thread started around Aug, 2000... Regine's prime years started around 2000 din when she staged the renowned R2K concert..from that year on, skyrocketing ang sunod sunod na success ni RV..

LEA SALONGA gets my vote, hands down. Velasquez hits E5 but beyond that is just torture to the ears. Salonga has an angelic head tone that reaches up to F5 and beyond, higher than Velasquez's. Salonga's range is up to C6. So, technically, Salonga has a better and wider range.

Salonga can still hit those registers with her performances in Les Miz, Allegiance, and concerts singing A Whole New World. Velasquez I am afraid could no longer hit her high notes much less an E5. The likes of Viray, Geronimo, and Go, are now much, much better pop "songbirds".

lea made a name in the broadway scene and got some awards for that. but regine sold more albums here and abroad, became the country's most attended concert artist, the standard of powerful singing, the most imitated pop icon, and the first name to come into many filipinos mind kung

lea even with her newsworthy broadway achievements wasn't able to create this kind of impact to our lives.

not to mention how almost every young singers in the country prefers her way if singing and made a name out of it

so there its regine for me.

And come to think of it regine never bragged her achievements abroad. she has the most no. Of albums sold sa ibang asian market. And one of the few filipinos na nafeature sa CNN.

She chose to stay in phil pero kilala pa rin siya at talagang lumalabas ang name niya kung pinoy singer ang pinaguusapan haha

i beg to disagree. lea cant touch regine's high notes. she owns the 5th octave for lea doesn't have that expansive chest range.

regine can hit a chesty and consistent in tone Bb5 and B5. she can neatly manipulate her high notes in terms of registration and dynamics up to G5. contrary to your claim nilalaro niya lang ang c5 to G5 notes niya. 'yung E5 kelangan ibelt ng iba para maabot but regine can sing it with consistency of tone and volume.

viray has the range close to regine but sara and rag? you must be joking. they didn't even pass your lea's standard (read her articles.about biriters)

even lea knows that she cant compare with regines chest range.

kung mapapanood niyo ang live concert performances nilang dalawa you will know that they are like x and y vocal wise. and you will understand bakit naging concert queen si regine at kung bakit mas maraming nagsulpotan na anak si regine

but lea is also best in her field. mas may impact lang talaga vocal journey ni regine

regine can hit F6 live and B6 studio version (headtone). ang C6 ni lea in head is just a note higher than regines clear, effortless and chest dominant B5. Just imagine how far regine can go kung gugustuhin niya?

If you want powerful high notes, its regine. If you want a high note done in a regular comfortable way its lea

Regine is destined for greatness and immortality. Maraming buhay ang binago mo Songbird! You have the voice and the heart of a true goddess of singing. And for that i chose you.

    Hail to the Queen Regine!

    I'll go for Regine Velasquez

sige nga... i dare you to prove and walk your talk.. paki enumerate at compare ng achievements ng dalawa.. let's see..

eh sa kung sales pa lang ang pag uusapan, si RV lang naman ang bukod tanging naka 12x platinum ng R2K album niya making her the best selling local female artist of all time. LS is not even on that list.
