Una kong nakita si Regine sa mandarin hotel duon sa Captain's Bar...as an audience...at tinawag siya ni Martin Nievera at in-introduce....I was up there at the balcony....second I was invited by some friends to watch her at Universal and then it was followed in Pasadena...she was with Kuh Ledesma....ang masasabi ko lamang ay gusto ko ang kanyang mga rendition ng mga kantahin niya...kaya lamang mas gusto ko sa kanya ang mga tagalog...kasi original...dito naman kay lea napanood ko na rin siya sa Ms Saigon...at siyempre magkaiba sila ng forte sa pag awit...ang masasabi ko lamang dapat ay maging taas noo tayo sa pagkakaroon ng dalawang magagaling na mangaawit at hindi dapat pag-AWAYAN....hehehe...kaya lang mas naiintindihan ko si Regine kaysa kay Lea........alam nyo na kung bakit?...hehehe

nkapanood nako ng concerts ng dalawa pero never naman ako na-bore sa performance ni lea. very expressive, right expression of emotion for the kind of song na she sings. pano naging boring? unless hindi mo naintindihan yung kinakanta db. yun siguro, kase it really wouldn't make sense to you. but if you have the ear, then you'll enjoy the music nevertheless kahit hindi mo alam yung pinagsasabi nya. it's like singing a tagalog song to a foreign audience tapos umiiyak sila e hindi naman nakakaintindi ng tagalog. language of music effect kumbaga..

baka yung kind of music? broadway? e hindi lang naman yun ang scope ng songs nya. pareho namang maganda at bongga mag-concert ang dalawa...wasn't able to watch regine w/bryan mcknight pero was able to see her with the SanMiguel thing on air. ang galing. tv lang yon. i'm sure mas maganda kung nanuod ako talaga.

i believe that the two should not be compared because they are very different in many ways.

    their audiences are different.

the type of songs they sing are different.

and LEA is into theater and not into concerts like REGINE.

they are both good in thier field.

I really both like them and i respect them din...pero i like Lea Salonga better, and I also believe na hindi rin sla dpat icompare becauze they both sing in different ways...

Like they said si Regine Velasquez has a strong and um..powerful voice at pang mga concerts or something si Lea **** yung voice nya sweet and relaxing at pang mga theatre,,pero all in all parehas silang magaling and pang international!!!,at dun sa iba **** kung mas gusto nyo kay regine kaysa kay Lea okay *** hindi **** kyo pnipilit eh,it depend on what the person likes & we have our own opinion den kung sino ang mas gusto..Dapat nga ipagmalaki natin slang dalawa because they really are great and pride of our country, they are worth or deserving to be known because they have talent!!!^^

Kalurkey, tinatanong pa ba yan? Of course REGINE all the way.

Regine Velasquez Tops Female Network's 25 Best Filipina Singers Poll
Did your favorite singers make the top 10? Find out the rest of the ranking in this gallery.

With a baby with hubby Ogie Alcasid on the way, Regine Velasquez is on break from work for health purposes. Despite keeping a low profile the past few months, however, Asia's Songbird proves that she still reigns supreme in the vocal category as she wins Female Network's 25 Best Filipina Singers poll for August!

Congratulations to Ms. Regine Velasquez who, after 31 days of voting, garnered 144,673 of the 265,909 votes cast (54.40%). This chart-topping, multiplatinum artist is the Philippine Association of the Record Industry's Best Selling Artist of All Time, a fact that is unsurprising considering her clean yet strong vocals and timeless appeal.

Want to know how the rest of the Pinay divas fared in our poll? Scroll through the gallery below for the complete ranking. What do you think about the results, FNites? Which female singer would have topped your own list?

Diba Icon narin na itinuring si Regine?

    Regine Velasquez. ICON, STANDARD, SONGBIRD.

Who needs "class", if you don't know how to connect with your audience?

    Better watch
One night with Regine - Concert in the facade of National Museum. Isn't Classic?
Songbird Sings Legrand - with Michel Legrand.
World Concert Tour 2003 - From RP President to local celebrities and normal people in the audience.

Most importantly, Regine continues her Legacy until NOW.

They're both talented vocalists, but I would go with Lea in this one. I just find Lea's music more interesting than Regine's. *listens to "Sun and Moon" & "On My Own"* Plus something about Regine's voice ticks me the wrong way.

    Regine Velasquez by a mile.

Listen Without Prejudice and My Love Emotion were (and still are) class albums. she's far more versatile and she's very involved in every project she's doing. sure she doesn't write her own songs, but she delivers her songs as if she writes them herself. plus she's a director. a credible actress. a gifted artist.

i like Lea, too. but i can't listen to her albums in their entirety. her music in general is too Disney-ish for my liking.

Teka bakit pinag-kukumpara?!
