$350, the average monthly salary of nurses in the Philippines.
The same amount Filipino nurses in the states spend for gas for their fancy cars.

Hi All,
Im working as a Civilian Staff Nurse in one of the Military Hospitals here in Cebu.
I am receiving 12k per month, no deduction, free housing (we have our own quarters just very near the hospital) and sometimes free food :-)
free AIRFARE pa minsan hahah via c130 heheheh
My wife just read this thread and corrected me. She said that she spends closer to $100.00 per month for gas.
Her job is only a few neighborhoods away from home...about 12 miles, or so, each way.
She drives her car to work and back five days per week, and doesn't really drive it anywhere else.
The price of regular gas here is around $2.99 to $3.09 per gallon.![]()
I volunteered before in FarNorthGeneralHospital in apayao province. I was about to be absorbed there as a staff nurse, but i wanted here in manila and now i regret leaving there.

Nurse III - 20+k
Nurse IV(chief nurse) - 24kk
This hospital could only accept 40 patients. Right now, a new hospital is built, so salary could increase as well.
Wow...$4.00 per gallon gas in Pinas! That's highway robbery when you compare it to the average wage in Pinas. Road trips for pleasure must be prohibitively expensive, not to mention just driving back and forth to work! Yesterday, I saw regular gas at our local gas station for $2.64 per gallon.
And yes, RNs here make more than ten times the wage they make in Pinas. However, with the exception of gas, just about everything else here is much more expensive. But even with our overall higher cost of living, an RN still makes a good living here.
