This one is another of my most favorite from him. Brilliant romantic--someone who definitely have meaning in his paintings. This piece is actually sarcasm; poking fun at hysteria and 'caprices'/ignorance of his day (in fact he had a famous sketch entitled 'Caprichos'--which poked fun at superstition). It's his way of saying "the devil is none other than your tyrant and fear itself".

I saw the real thing. It is so deep and scary, just imagining what is going on in munch head when he painted it.
Picasso's painting is amazing too, you can feel the passion that he inserted in his works.

Painters who do surrealism are geniuses. They're minds are amazing to be able to envision things like that! I wonder how they do it.. I know Dali painted from his subconscious, and I love that, but I wonder how other painters come up with everything..

    Anyway, on-topic.

I saw this one from the Hermitage Museum and since then, I could not forget it...It is forever etched in my memory.

another painting would be The Scream by the norwegian painter Edvard Munch--moving piece of art. Some of his works are displayed in the Oslo Museum

and lastly-- The Decapitation of St John the Baptist by Caravaggio.
