According to Gary of Billboard.com, Hummingbird Heartbeat was his bet for Katy to release as a single however The One That Got Away got the dibs (maybe due to her dwindling relationship with Russel Brand at that time). Hummingbird is actually also my choice as a single however lyrically it might not be appealing to the adult demo. Musically, it's a radio-airplayable song however it just got some limitations on the lyric department. Pearl and/or Not Like The Movies are also potential hits however, aiming for supremacy at the charts, ballad/slow tunes rarely get ample airplay and mass appeal (downloads) which contribute to a songs chart positioning like what happened to Thinking of You (peaked at #29), her only single not to break the Top 10 in the Hot 100 charts. Again, I said rarely. It happens but rarely (read: Adele and/ Gotye).

Nevertheless, she's been successful with her music career chart-wise or in other terms. Five number one songs from an album which is at par with the legend Michael Jackson, a feat only hers and no other female artists have ever achieved, yet.
