Aside from UST, the following Metro Manila universities are also beautiful in my opinion (in no particular order):
DLSU – Although the quasi-Mansard uppermost part of the Yuchengco structure seems odd for a Neoclassical structure, I still find DLSU’s main building’s faςade nice and classy. The spaces in DLSU, despite being relatively meager, also satisfy and complement the campus’s purpose, functionality, people, and place (never mind the LRT).
FEU – Its eclectic Art Deco buildings have some sort of a "philosophical impulsion" (By the way, Art Deco is what they call in architecture as the multifarious construction of a la mode and exquisite modernism). I remember reading that FEU’s structures or any Art Deco movement was the “antiphon” to the more predominant Neoclassical architecture during the first quarter of the 20th century.
ADMU – I just love how the statuary, ferrum works, and ruins rescued from Intramuros were coalesced into its Loyola Heights campus (I’m talking about the story behind the monograms, the statue of St. Joseph and the Child Jesus, et cetera). Its buildings are not the most beautiful and the most elegant, but its landscaping is well thought out. The use of bricks reminds me of the Red brick universities in England as well as the Tudor architectural style.
In general, I consider spaces (I don’t like vast spaces without character; big is not necessarily beautiful and green spaces are not enough), structures, and architecture to be great and gorgeous if they have symmetry (horizontal and vertical angulations, isometric conspicuousness, arrangement, etc.), functionality and comfort, character, balance and, yes, a beautiful story.
