AMERICAN IDOL EXPERIENCE
According to Us Magazine, the country star Carrie Underwood is upset by the way the media is handling Rihanna’s alleged assault by Chris Brown.
She says, “They were fine at the Grammy party. I don’t think anybody actually knows what happened.”
The country cutie continues, “You hear a new [rumour] every five minutes, and some of them are getting ridiculous. I really hope everyone will lay off and just let everybody who’s involved figure out everything first.”
Simon Cowell may be TV’s Mr Nasty, but American Idol fourth season winner Carrie Underwood was full of praise for the British judge.
“I think Simon has actually got a wee bit nicer over the past couple of years,” she said, speaking at the launch of the American Idol Experience attraction at Disneyworld, Florida.
“He’s always been pretty nice to me and I think it’s really good that somebody will give you a dose of reality even if it might be said in a harsh manner. I can think of nicer ways to say things than he tells them, but it’s nice that he’s got a very strong opinion and he does voice it.”
Last year’s American Idol winner, David Cook was also full of praise for the critical Brit.
“The first couple of weeks I was on the show, Simon and I did not see eye to eye,” he revealed.
“As soon as I took a step back and realised that everything he said was constructive, as mean as it might be, we got along fine. So if anybody asks me who my favourite judge is, I’m always going to say Simon.”

Kristy Lee Cook Regrets Comments on Carrie
Season 7 update: Kristy Lee Cook
USA TODAY reporter Marco Della Cava catches up with Kristy Lee Cook for today's Season 7 Idol update:
Kristy Lee Cook is fast developing a hide thicker than that of her beloved horses, after being dropped — for a second time — by Arista Nashville last December when sales of her post-Idol album Why Wait stalled in the mid-30,000s.
Currently back in Oregon, where she’s preparing for a July wedding and overseeing her rescue Horse Heaven Foundation, Cook says she regrets pinning her troubles on Carrie Underwood, hopes to find her way back into a recording studio and gets misty every time she watches the new season of Idol.
“I love Carrie — she’s an awesome talent and I’m not blaming anything on her,” says Cook, 25, who at the time was quoted as saying she got dropped because she shared a label with the formidable Idol winner.
Cook says her managers are “talking with other labels,” and that she’d “love to do music that’s really me.”
Meanwhile, her Idol days are never far from her mind, with frequent calls from Jason Castro and Syesha Mercado. “Michael (Johns) called to say nice things when I was released,” she says. “The worst thing about Idol ending is never seeing your friends again.”
Cook watches Season 8 as often as she can. “It’s weird to have done it and know what everyone’s going through,” she says. “I miss it.”
