    wedding musicians

here's a piece of advice when scouting for a musician to play at your wedding or any event:

you can scout at websites, wedding stores or magazines, referrals by friends co workers and relatives, referrals by your credible event suppliers, hotel lobby's (they usually have musicians you can approach thier agent or bandleader and inquire), restaurant or show performers...

try to watch thier live performance through live demos done exclusively, or live wedding performance at churches (since church is a public place naman abyone can go inside) by this you will get to have an idea what they can deliver on your wedding day in terms of music... or you can also watch a video demo (request for a live video demo kasi naeedit pa kung studio demo at least mas natural pag actual wedding video talaga di ba?), or ask if they have regular gigs or shows that you can watch on to..

after viewing thier demo be it live or in video, ask naman for an audio samples preferably done at studios so that you can appreciate and really hear thier tune quality. professionals usually sounded lively and crisp when playing even the most simple songs...

then review thier contract's terms and conditions, clarify the duration of thier performance and thier breaks, the songs to play when to submit it and if you can requests songs not in thier lists, thier calltime during the event. ideally they should arrive one hour before the event not later than that... how flexible are they with regards to the time and songs to be played... and if there are any additional charges like instrument rentals, sound system, overtime fees, other fees you have in mind. try to raise these issues before commiting.

try to research about them, via web, event suppliers, people that they have performed on to but don't relay completely on it because people have different views naman. what 's bad sa iba is good naman sa iba, kaya try to broaden your judgement... the best basis is your judgement on how the musicians deal with you, makikita mo naman kung expert na talaga sila or not and through actual wedding events na mapapanood mo ng live try to requests for a scheduled viewing...

scout for credible musicians that has experience and expertise on this kind of performance, flexibility is a must...

there goes my thoughts, just sharing lang for anyone who needs it....
