Ano bang magandang kunin if I'm single, 29 years old non smoker and my goals are the ff:
    1) Start a business in 5 years or pay for down payment for a house in 5 years
    2) Pay for my (future) kids' education
    3) Have retirement money

I can spend about 30k a year for premiums, sa ngayon.

May nagaalok sakin ng Sun Life insurance plus investment. Pero may nabasa ako, better to just get a term insurance and then just invest the difference. Kumbaga buy term, invest the difference. Ano ba talaga ok?

^ Term insurance is okay, kung protection ang need mo, you just renew it every year.. no cash value or dividend and the premium changes.

But if you want protection and savings, whole life is better and also VUL.

Term insurance and mutual fund is a good combination..

@redraincoat, medyo mahirap maghanap ng single product para sa goals mo kasi magkakalayo ang timeframe. Sa 3rd goal mo, maganda ang vul kasi dual purpose yun: pera pang retirement pagtanda (with growth higher than banks in the long run) o protection for family pag mamatay agad.

KITHE ORTIZ: Thank you! When you say the premium changes, how big is the change? Kunyari from 30k a year, will it suddenly jump to 60? 100? At tsaka when do I know this change? Hindi naman ako mabubulaga lang na iba na pala ang premiums ko right?

AkiFoblesia: Good idea!! Thank you thank you. Sabagay, iba iba nga yung investment horizons ko. Yung nagaalok kasi sakin ng Sunlife VUL, covered daw lahat yung 3 goals. Kasi in case daw I need money on my 5th year, I can borrow from myself. parang ganun. So mejo napaisip din ako. Nalalabuan ako sa offer nya. Eh baka naman 10 years pa kumita yung money ko, alanganin naman kung kukuha na ako ng 5th year palang.

Your suggestions are super helpful! Siguro what I'll do is, for my 5 year plan, I'll just invest in stocks or MFs. For my kids' education, VUL nalang. And then yung retirement money, yun din gagawin kong VUL.

Yung ibang hindi nagVUL for retirement, anong other investment vehicle ang option? Bonds?

Pero thank you thank you! Mas klaro na ngayon yung options ko

    Di ka naman mabubulaga..
Ma shock ka lang.. haha. napakalaki ng difference, 10-100 pesos lang!.. and with our proposal naka indicate na rin dun how much would be your next premium base on your age..

Kung 30k ang budget mo a year, if term and MF combination, 20%-40% is for insurance and the difference 60% is for MF.

Madami naman plan that will fits to your goals eh, pwede VUL, whole life with endowment, etc.

You need to compute how much fund you need for that particular goal, so that you can see if you are on tract with your goal..

How much are you willing to set aside for that goal..

We have financial needs analysis computation for free..

    Hi Kithe,

ask ko lang sa VUL kailangan ba continous ang payment hanggang sa mareach mo yung goal na for example 5 yrs. to pay? nagplan din kasi ako kumuha savings + protection with my family, at gusto ko mi balik sya in a few years sa akin..

to sum up ganito sana yung plan ko..

    1. savings + family protection + pension (10 yrs return of payment)

saka ask ko lang din kung insured yung family ko while waiting for the return of payment then may nangyari sa isa sa kanila hindi ko na ba makukuha yung balik ng pera ko after 10 yrs?

After 5years of payment? Do you have the options to let your money stay in that plan? If so, are there any additional payments?

  8. #128
Theoretically yes, depending on your fund's performance.

Heck you can even just for a year, and leave it if your fund has been performing very well.

Or you might even have to pay more than the premium if your fund is doing very poorly so your policy wouldn't lapse

VUL, an investment plus protection policy meaning equity plus medical benefits right? What if after 5years of payment and there's an option to live the fund for how many years, Am I still going to pay for the medical policy or there's no payment already?

You will loan in SSS just to invest it in mutual fund?? for me its not recommended, kasi di mo alam kung kikita ba yung mutual fund mo, na ganun din kalaki sa magiging interest ng loan mo..

    1. what age would you like to retire?
2.how much would you like to have when you retire,, if you have no idea how much.. we can use the basic expense method, how much is your annual expenses today?inflation rate today?
    3. how much is your monthly budget right now to save for your goal?

Dear VUL advisors (philam, axa, manulife, and sunlife), penge naman ng quote how much premium and coverage for 26yr old, single, non smoker. I'd like to get one by january. Got a proposal from a sunlife advisor two years ago pero hindi ko itinuloy. didnt know much about VUL at that time eh. Hope u can help me. thanks!

  17. #137
Term insurance and MF or VUL??

Question is how much is premium allocation annually pag s VUL?ratio ng premium to investment?
Term insurance ng Sunlife kasi 5k annually for 500k coverage.10yrs to pay ata.help naman
    30yr old male non-smoker

  18. #138
That's my concern as well. Talked to a Sunlife agent who said VUL is the best insurance product and here's why:

    1. Insured up to age 88
    2. Part of it is invested, unlike in term, "tapon" lang kapag hindi nagamit

There were many posts I read that the term insurance + MF is a better way to go. So I told this to the Sunlife agent. He discouraged me from buying the term insurance because:

    1. "Tapon" kapag hindi nagamit
    2. You're only insured during the time you're paying for the insurance

To the guys here who have term insurance and just invested the difference, why did you go for this route?

Meron kayang term insurance wherein you are insured up to age 65 - 70?

    Thanks guys!

  19. #139
^yun din concern ko sa term un "tapon" then if expired na renew ka uli.it might cost me more in the long run.
