you know, board exam is really a basis of determining the quality of education of a certain university or institute with 2 categories, 50% in topping the exam and 50% also in their passing rates. mapua has declined its quality, but it's now redeeming itself, in fact they topped in architecture, civil and sanitary engineering board exams. even in mechanical and chemical they've been in the top 10.! in the case of la salle, they are then overtaking the premiere engineering schools!
    my top 5 engineering schools(FROM 2000-1ST 6 MONTHS OF 2009):

    1. UNIVERSITY OF THE PHILIPPINES-D,92.27%
    2. MAPUA INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY(MALAYAN UNIVERSITY),90.08%
    3. DE LA SALLE UNIVERSITY-MANILA,90.05%
    4. UNIVERSITY OF THE PHILIPPINES-LB, 89.98%
    5. MINDANAO STATE UNIVERSITY, 87.53%
    6. UNIVERSITY OF SANTO TOMAS, 87.49%

ateneo is never a good school in en terms of engineering, their subjects are so......anyway their good in law,,jejeje............

Can you please define what the percentage means after the school name? And you said that board exam is only the basis for determining the quality of a certain school, how about research and development? Another thing is the curriculum. Almost all the curriculum here in country is board exam oriented. Mapua has a different one. Reason enough to produce a lot of technological inventions.

    in addition to this...

MAPUA- mabubuhay sa bundok... diskarteng sobrang lupit..
    others- academically good...

As a mapua graduate, naku, wala na sa top schools ang mapua.. Kasi business na to and hindi na academe.

I can still remember nung kapanahunan ko during the semestral, out of 40 students, 8 lang kaming pumasa.

UST Faculty of Engineering programs are all awarded by CHED:

    CoE: ECE

CoD: mechanical, industrial, electrical, civil and chemical

    enough said.

    On the other hand,

Mapua is a good engineering school. NO DOUBT

Kelangan fair at kitang kita naman sa board results for the past 8 years.

    1- UP-Diliman / DLSU (tie)
    2-Mapua
    3-MSU
    4-Adamson
    Then you're wrong with that.

The truth is, UPLB must really be on the ERDT consortium only that they dismissed it by way that "UP" there represents the UP system. In the whole UP system (program for engineering), the Institute of Agricultural Engineering is, by far, the most active in research (due to its nature) and had the densest count of PhDs in the field of engineering. If you'll look at the scientist database from the government in its listing under engineers, UPLB agricultural engineers dominates it. ERDT consortium is based primarily on research in engineering and allied sciences that UPLB must be there (well, now UPLB's included). The Chemical Engineering in UPLB, in addition, is the prime researcher of alternative fuels as mandated by the government (such as jatropha, etc.).

One has to have enough knowledge and information to stand up for a fact--not just opinion. Research--that's the secret of the developed world.

We are eyeing only among UST, TIP and ADAMSON. Which one is the best? Anong pinagkaiba sa approach nila? Sayang hindi kami nakapagtry sa UP..

Btw, anong difference ng ECE at EE? Which is better?

yep totoo madalas ngayun sa EE ang nagtotop is from provincials schools
    (base from them)

sa mapua di uso ang preboard yung mga bagong curriculum merun na sila batch 07 pataas to get high passing rate like the other school

well maganda pa rin sa mapua in terms of education, training and sophisticated equipments that is an advantage and also the vast EE alumni in the industry at di pa din madali makagraduate on time konting konti lang ang nakakagraduate on time

pero your Eyeing ONLY to UST, TIP and ADAMSON why rather waste your time posting it here right? this is a bias sub forum
malamang sasabihin ng tao dito MAPUA

difference ng EE at ECE? google it

Ok regarding EE and ECE, lets just say in an engineering consulting firm, EE usually designs the the power, lighting system lang dapat and the telephone, cable tv etc. should be ECE. But until now EE designs this auxiliary system such as telephone etc. majority of the design firm. Wag mong gawing basehan ang PRC board exam result, ang gawin mong basehan eh yun mga school na attractive sa mga company after they graduate. You can do a research in the engineering firms HR.

You want to know why mapuans are still atractive to companies that needs engineers? Simply because of our strong alumni connections and the mapuan culture and tradition. If you ask me i would still prefer to hire a mapuan because i know what they been through just to be able to graduate from mapua. And besides here in our company, majorities are mapuan engineers. We are the one who keeps this company running. And besides, companies abroad also conducts job interviews in our campus for newly grads. This proves how in demand a mapuan graduate is. From our batch, majority are already working abroad and some of them are hired even without work experience here in the philippines.

  18. #76
And one more thing, what do you mean by "we are the one who keeps this company running"? Kayo may-ari ng company? Mukhang mahusay ang batch nyo ah considering may mga kabatch kang wala pang work experience pero they are hired here in the philippines. But anyway, ito lang masasabi ko, hindi magtatagal ang strong alumni connections and mapuan tradition kung patuloy parin ang pagiging relax sa admission and re-admission system. Good profs, good equipments..etc. Quarterm? Maybe..

Hinde mo ata nagets yung point ko when i said we are the one who keeps this company running. anyway totoo sinabi mo. sooner or later baka mabaon na rin sa limot ang mapua as one of the premier engineering school here in the philippines. sad but true. anyway mapuan ka din po ba?

  20. #78
Yes. Nakuha ko naman ibig mong sabihin..Tayo ang biggest engineering school when it comes to producing graduates and passing board exams in engineering, so definitely kahit saang engineering company talagang dominated ng mapuan.

    agree.
ok naman ang Quarterm ng MAPUA if you're looking on the bright side.
Correct me if I'm wrong pero ang curriculum natin ay mas maganda kesa sa ibang school. why? mas madami tayo inaaral kesa sa kanila. more units din overall kung tutuusin.

naparegister tuloy ako dito dahil dito

I'm fom TIP Manila, IMHO, Good choice ang TIP pgdting s Eng'g field.. I'm a CE student by the way). Besides pinaka-mura s mga nbanggit mong school.

    Goodluck.
