    To All Masci Alumni

PLEASE FORWARD THIS MESSAGE TO YOUR BATCHMATES. THANKS!

    Dear fellow masci-alumni,

Upon receiving the posted message by Allan in the egroup, a
batchmate from '79 was able to facilitate our line of communication
with Mrs de Guzman through her good friend and another masci teacher,
    Ms. Cordero.

Mrs de Guzman's attending physician happens to be a batchmate, Dr
Jose Rizal Lubag, who was so cautious in breaking the news to her on
the severity of her condition. Initially, Ms de Guzman would not like
to undergo removal of the tumor because of financial reasons as well
as the fear of "signing her own death sentence", so Doc Joey offered
a cheaper procedure to minimize risk
of infection which Ms de Guzman seems to favor.

We also learned through Ms Cordero, that they got the opinion of an
oncologist who happened to be a masci-alumni (batch 1986). Doc
Genevive Padilla (her maiden name), had convinced Ms de Guzman to
undergo the tumor removal operation which is costly (around PHP500K)
and that Doc Gene will also try to find ways to alleviate the
financial burden in order for Ms de Guzman to have the operation
while she is still strong (the chances of surviving the operation is
    greater).

On this note, we would like welcome assistance from the masci
alumni to show our concern to Mrs de Guzman. Let's pray for her
recovery and that we can all do this together to help a former
    teacher.

Thanks Allan for bringing this to our attention!
God bless you, Allan, Doc Joey, Doc Gene and all the masci-alumni.
