no you don't need a shrink, they're just gonna turn you into their very own money-making machine. but the fact that you asked means you can now see through the utter stupidity that this whole thread has been built upon. there's a thread on these boards, the social anxiety thread. i have a feeling people like you would benefit from reading posts there.

hirap dito sa thread na to, hindi naman mga taong passionate sa basketball ang dapat na sumasagot dito dahil hindi naman basketball per se ang issue dito. ang issue dito ay sense of self worth, how one can be comfortable in his own skin. daming mga basketball forums, itong mga engot na to dito nagtipon-tipon. para nakita lang yung word na basketball sa title ng thread, nagsi-sawsaw agad, di man lang naisip kung sa anong context ginamit yung salita. lol. katuwa.

So what? if di marunong ang isang guy na magbasketball, marami namang hobby o sport na interesting like swimming, soccer, baseball etc. ridiculous naman kung iisipin mong impairment ang hindi paglaro ng isang particular na game- ang babaw lang at medyo nonsense ang perception na ganun.
And another thing, basketball is so overrated-might aswell choose a different sport. just saying, I dont hate basketball ah.

    - and that's how a girl like me sees it. ;>

^It's perfectly okay for men not privy of how the game is played because we all have other sports at our disposal but mind if I ask why you think Basketball is overrated?

Do you know that Basketball is not the world's most famous sport? That distinction belongs to football.

  6. #506
^True because we play sports not to define our sexuality.

    0ops na double post pala.

@strandedstranger sa tingin ko obvious naman eh, you see it almost everywhere- sa Pinas. usually every barangay, may basketball court. PBA.. mas bukambibig ng tao unlike other sports.
not in the sense na internationally.

about that fact-di ko alam yan.
    so now . . . I know

    ^one of my sentiments.

mas masagwa pa, yung mga engot na passionate masyado sa basketball, they condone all this (bah they're even OK with it, sheesh). they are, after all, one in this sport. lol. none of them seems to see the bigger picture.

I tried playing basketball when I was younger but it doesn't really like me. So instead I played extreme sports. I started with a BMX bike then Skateboard when I was a teen, and now that I am "old" I am struggling to learn snowboarding. If you think I am gay then F***K you!! You can shove your basketball up your A$$

True. The nation is crazy over a sport that we could never really be good at. Not even in Asia. Many people think that because we have a commercial pro league (PBA) eh powerhouse na tayo sa sport na ito. The PBA is basketball as a form of entertainment, not sport. Sure, the guys there have occasionally been pulled out to play for the flag, but still we were never dominated the sport abroad.

Basketball has sucked so much sponsorship money- to the detriment of other sports. Since nandun daw ang pera, lahat yun ang ambisyon. What do people say to a tall kid?

"Uy, matangkad ka. Dapat mag-basketball ka!"

Kaya ayun, kahit lampa ipipilit sa basketball- when in fact baka mas mabuti pang sa swimming o cycling gamitin yung height nya. Many dont realize it but height is might even in these sports. But alas, how many companies will pour just as much money into these other sports?

Unless we direct our efforts and resources to those sports where we can really excel, we will never experience racking up gold & silver medals in the olympics. (Well there's also the issue of politics in the PSAs but that's another good topic to discuss later.)

How many boxing gold medals has Cuba won in the olympics? Mas maliit sila sa atin and yet they know where they can excel.

another recurring theme in my head about the sport, which is also applicable to our football team, azkals, that is if it can REALLY be called a football team. lol.

pacquiao is short. he can never excel in basketball. but sheesh he doesn't have to.

Para sa akin, the value of the Azkals is to drum up interest in the sport. It takes time kasi to take a new sport down to the grass roots. If they can be a catalyst to popularize the sport, then why not?

    present!
    LOL.
I don't know but I just can't enjoy this sport. Frisbee, I like it though.

Anong connect ng basketball with manhood/masculinity? Basketball is just another sport in the field of sports. I can play basketball pero di ganon kagaling, but I am good in some other sports, martial arts, target shooting, game fishing, boxing, and other outdoor sports. What about ladies playing basketball, does that mean they are lesbian? I don’t think so. Measuring masculinity with basketball is too shallow.
