Hi! My fiance and I will be getting married next year and will be migrating to Canada shortly after (like, a week or two after the wedding). We'd like a wedding registry but have no idea on what to put in it yet. We'd like to avoid asking for general cash gifts, because we also want our guests to know how those cash gifts will be used.

A friend suggested we post our wish list in a deadline and have guests post pledges (or donate through paypal) for things we may need in Canada. We're leaning towards that idea, because it's practical. If that would be the case, we only have a lone item in that registry: a PC for speedy communication with everyone else here.

What else can we add to this registry before we post it?
